Posted By extreme85 9 months, 1 week ago in Political News

Former drug czar John Walters loved to deploy frightening statistics, as when he told the Cincinnati Post in 2005, “ Nationwide, the number of teens seeking treatment for marijuana abuse or dependency was higher than for all illegal drugs combined.”

It's another revenue making scheme. They have to pay the court and the treatment centers.

Excuse me. The author is trying to say that it is not addictive. It may not be the worst drug to be addicted to, but it is addictive.

Due to my condition, which was not caused by smoking, I will never be able smoke another joint in my life again. Cant say I am suffering in the lease from it. It would be nice to once in awhile to have a joint like some people have a cold beer, but that life. Quiting cigarettes was a billion times worse.

Abuse and or use does not = addiction.
Now I believe I've known a few people who might be classified as being psychologically addicted to weed, but it is not a physical addiction.

moonstream1...the press won't let you print the truth? really?
I think it would be helpful if you did any homework on this issue.

All drugs at some point do harm, the problem is kids now are to ignorant and take everything to the extreme, and like alcohol pot is a stepping stone to every other drug on the market, and it all depends on that market,if its cheap and gets you high kids jump on it,that is how crack, and meth got a foot hold in our nation. But like everything it depends on the individual, many pot heads have gone the circle and done every drug on the planet but always come back to pot because its safer and cheaper!

        FTA:
"All in all, this is a portrait of a population that bears little or no resemblance to a group of addicts. The majority appears to be receiving drug abuse treatment they don’t need in order to satisfy a legal system gone mad."

This study says what I've seen in most of my life.
