    Most electricity in the US is produced in the US using American resources. Nat gas, wind, solar, and hydroelectric can all be abundant producers that are reasonably clean. Coal is also abundant. There is no such thing as clean coal. Electric cars that are plugged in to the grid can also be used to supply power to the grid during power emergencies. My uncle lives in Washington State so most of his electricity is probably hydroelectric.
