Denmark is reaching the same level of equality granted in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Great Britain. In three of those four countries, it is legal for gay and lesbian couples to wed. In all four, it is legal for gay couples to adopt children. Denmark is a very progressive country and will soon have marriage equality too.

So will they be progressive if they allow anyone to marry anyone? Sisters marrying brothers, dogs marrying humans. WHy is one man marrying another man and having kids any less disgusting than a man marrying his sister? Because your gay and biased and you have an agenda. Equal rights for all. WHat does that really mean to you David? Cuz it's sounds to me that you only equal rights for your little group of Gay's and Lesbians.

Wow. How sad that children winning something like this is considered negative by some people. I am always amazed that people can put bigotry and hatred above the needs of a child.

What did the children win? I think your confusing the Gay agenda winning a battle for their own group versus what children need. What if someone wants to marry their sister? Are you going to be the one to tell them that they can't do it? Don't they have the same rights as everyone else? Why only grant those rights to a certain group of people, gays, and not to another group of people? Equal Rights for all, right?

What your doing is changing the world to what you want it to be. Being Gay is not natural, even less so than someone marrying their sister. Even worse is giving kids to gay people. These kids will be made fun of and ridiculed in school. But you dont care as long as it fits YOUR agenda.

Your the real bigot in this whole mess. Selfish? Yes.

... while we're being all nice, natural & normal... maybe coin a new jargon "natch'n' norm"... ; war occurs bizz as usual, fundamentalists of any stripe have a grip on whole hegemonys, {bizz as...}, lying is good business as well as good politics, any kind of prevarication that supports an ideal is blinkered o.k by what ever imams have an interest... the list is self-propagating, and have a nice & normal day...

OK. So kids should rot in foster care and orphanages because idiots like you still teach your kids to hate.

You don't get it. You seem to think that it is better to deny children parents at all than it is to allow gay people to adopt children who desperately need them. Who is that benefitting? Not the child certainly. That is only benefitting bigotry.

And marrying your sister is illegal because having a sexual relationship with your sister is illegal. Same as marrying your dog. Or marrying more than one person. There is no illegality involved with gay people marrying. Understand? Not illegal. Illegal. They are very different.

And again, because people in your community are obviously horrible parents, you think that all parents are bad? You don't think that an involved and intelligent parent can negate the effects of bigotry from the community? I feel sorry for your children.

It's a slow process getting equal rights for everyone. Fortunately, even a few to the right of the middle are starting to come around (as evidenced by the few politicians who went against the party line to vote in favour of this).
Sadly, though, from being at the forefront of a lot of issues like this, we here in Denmark have since fallen a bit behind lately. I hope it'll change back and we can once again be seen as a forerunner for human rights.

As for some of the specifics of the article, we're now in the same unfortunate boat as e.g. Spain, Netherlands, Sweden etc. where, even though this law has been passed, most countries who put up children for adoption still won't accept homosexual couples as parents.
          But it's a start...
