Posted By alexsimon85 7 months, 3 weeks ago in Arts & EntertainmentIt is outstanding how great some things were built centuries ago without the aid of modern technique. Brunelleschi's dome in Florence still dominates the city, and it is the largest masonry dome ever built.
Built in the 15th century, it remains the most imposing building of Tuscany, and the world's most amazing cathedral domes.

It is beautiful and a great feat of engineering but this is a touch misleading:

It's the tallest building in Florence because there is a law that doesn't allow any buildings taller than the cathedral.
