Dodd's Wife a Former Director of Bermuda-Based IPC Holdings, an AIG Controlled Company »
Posted By pc25 8 months, 1 week ago in NewsNo wonder Senator Christopher Dodd (D-Conn) went wobbly last week when asked about his February amendment ratifying hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses to executives at insurance giant AIG. Dodd has been one of the company's favorite recipients of campaign contributions. But it turns out that Senator Dodd's wife has also benefited from past connections to AIG as well.

Dood epitomizes the phrase "slimy politician"

Of course he had a perfect role model - his father
40 years ago, Dodd's father, the late Senator Thomas Dodd, was officially censured for personal misappropriation of more than $100,000 in campaign contributions. It ruined him as a senator and a man
Sen. Dodd's father, Thomas, who became a senator after serving as an assistant to the lead prosecutor of the Nuremberg Trials, still has an effect on his son, 40 years after his death. "His influence on me is something that I cherish," Sen. Dodd said. Sitting in his father's former chair behind his father's former desk in the Russell Senate Building, Sen. Dodd praised his father's "conviction."
Over the years, Sen. Dodd has not only struggled to get out of his father's shadow but also to restore the Dodd family's name.

I don't remember any of you bitching when it was proven that Cheney was still getting money from Haliburton. So when the other side is doing it, it's terrible, but when your side is doing it, it's ignored. Hypocrites. I don't like the AIG thing either but BOTH parties are to blame for it. Both parties were in congress when it passed. Both parties are beholden to AIG as they are to all big businesses. The problem is that republicans want to keep it that way whereas some more left minded individuals would like to see the oligarchy change.
