    if the past is a guide, things that can't go on forever, don't. the only grounds for this time being different would be if the entire world economy morphed into something else.

    if that happened by consensus planning involving Everyone, it would have a chance. if it happens quickly, in response to a crash, and is guided by the same insiders who caused the crash, it will leave the rest of us in even worse shape.

    since there is no political will to plan ahead, i'm not optimistic.
