It is very sad. The police and others are lead to believe that tasers are safe, when they are not. If you nave any kind of nervous system problems they can be fatal, as we have seen. It would often be better to use a night-stick, or even a firearm with a non-lethal shot. These injuries are at least recoverable.

Since when were there four police on a routine traffic stop? Since when does anything "on the street" have anything to do with tasering children on a domestic disturbance call? Priorities, please, and a little judgement. If you are so fearful, get another job.

Our national news service up here did a story on tasers and the deaths that they sometimes cause, the managed to obtain 1500 tasers and checked to see if they were working properly and only giving a certain charge. They sent the tasers to an independant testing service and found that over 20 percent were puting out up to 10 times the charge they were supposed to, when they contacted the manufacturer they would not reply. Since this report came out the RCMP and some city police forces have sent their tasers away for testing and have found the same results but it seems to be in the older models, they did mention what model and the date which the problems seem to have been corrected but the company still denies that there is a problem and has not notified any of the police services who have bought the weapons.

What bothers me is even when it has been proved to the company that some weapons are faulty they don't seem concerned, now to me thats what I would call a crime. -

Boy, a day when I agree with both Global Warmmer and ningyo, what's this world coming to. People have to get over the idea that fighting police officers or resisting arrest is their God given right. The police officer wants to go home after his/her shift in one piece and has every right to expect to do just that. If you want to be violent you must expect violence in return. Play the game pay the price.

Now I humbly ask of Global and ningyo if I might start negging them on other threads again?-
