I believe the main reasons are arrogance, stupidity and insanity. Arrogance due to egos so large that people believe they are the elite who can dominate thw world w/absolute power. It's only a delusion. We has humans can't handle that much power. That much power changes people. Makes them arrogant. Soon they begin to believe their neighbors should be dominated or destroyed. Usama bin laden is a powerful being in Afghanistan and he believes we are the devil and should be destroyed. He believes the same thing about Israel. Examples like this can be found throughout history where every empire attempted one failed. It's a process that's repeated itself over and over again and is always costly.

The tendency for those in Washington, to dehumanize others is prohibited , especially with the ninth amendment. Yet...I would have to agree...the old rags to riches and better than thou...is a tradition in Washington.

Disparagement is the same thing asm discrimination...and is used to deny, abridge, harm, or kill citizens.
Seems there was once a pholosopher who commented that when world population rises...wars take place...and believe me...history proves the US..as the US is responcible for many deaths, especially to the female gender.
When women outnumber men...you would think the policy there in Washington would not be so reversed...and kill the young in war. So I will add another reason for war and fighting(conflicts). Old men take advantage of the young...and also inflict their power upon others when a Democracy vested the powers of government with all the people...not a select few.
Time seems to charge a course for the United States...and it would have to include...dismissal of them...those in Congress. Congress is vested with the predetermined task of legislating what the individuals in public represent. That is what is called exclusive legislative power...and due to the requirement to represent...you see the chioce meaning of the phrase.
They are what you could call ill...as that is why they do the illegal. Anyone that uses correct coping skills, will notice this and pursue a course for change. That is why society is so disfunctional...as the government does not govern the correct way. Government is required to be both fair and impartial...and they are not even close to being in the neighborhood. -

hubris and willingness to dehumanize, yes that explains some of the problem, but there's also excess of testosterone.

an interesting fact, better nutrition equals more testosterone. could explain why the strong always seem to be exploiting the weak.
