US President Barack Obama has indirectly praised former French president Jacques Chirac's fierce opposition to the US-led invasion of Iraq, the online edition of the daily Le Figaro reported on Thursday.
In a letter described by Chirac as 'very nice,' Obama wrote, 'I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world.'
The use of the word 'peace' was taken to be an indirect reference to Chirac's stance against the US intervention in Iraq, which Obama had also opposed as senator.
what a dorkus, what a moron
** Obama’s letter was sent on March 20, the anniversary of the Iraq war.
** The US still has troops in Iraq defending that country, and those troops are not only fighting but actively engaged in building a civil society.
** Each and any action by the Obama administration will be closely examined. Publicly approaching a private foundation with language that can be interpreted as being against the US presence in Iraq actively undermines that effort.-

What a surprise: More lies, spin, and smear tactics from the Propeller con Peeepshow Booth Swabber brigade. Here are the FACTS:

"Special Report host Brit Hume, Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson, and New York Post writer Geoff Earle uncritically repeated a report by Israeli newspaper Haaretz that French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Sen. Barack Obama's position on Iran "utterly immature" and "formulations empty of all content" without noting that the French Embassy issued a statement calling the Haaretz report about Sarkozy's comments "groundless."

"Want to know how quickly rumors get spread on the Internet? Here’s a prime example.

The right side of the web is apoplectic this morning claiming that President Obama doesn’t know who the French president is."
"Le Figaro did opine in its article that “in using the word ‘peace,’ Obama was offering an implicit homage to the former French president who had opposed the Iraq war.”
But other French news organizations confirmed with Chirac’s entourage that they believed the reference was not in regards to the Iraq war but to Chirac’s current work as head of the foundation.
Whatever. In any case, there is no evidence that the language has upset President Sarkozy or anyone else in France."

Obama Snubs Sarkozy By Writing to Chirac.
According to the French newspaper, Le Figaro, President Barack Obama has written a letter to French former president Jacques Chirac using language more commonly used when writing to current heads of state
It has been reported that Nicolas Sarkozy has been trying to get an invitation to the White House, so Sarkozy might already be somewhat put off. Since I seem to recall that Obama has met Sarkozy, I doubt that Obama simply forgot who the President of France is, but it’s possible.
The likelier possibilities are that:
(1) Obama was trying to send some sort of insulting message to Sarkozy, or
(2) Obama was clueless about how a letter suggesting that he wanted to work with Chirac "in the coming four years" would be interpreted by Sarkozy or the French press, much as he was clueless about his snub of British PM Gordon Brown.
Of course, if Bush had done this, we would have weeks of jokes on TV about how he doesn’t know who the President of France is. -

What was all that drivel from the liberal, progressive media about how our reputation would be restored in the eyes of the world and everyone would love us again? What a sad, sad day it was when this clown ever got to be in charge of anything bigger than a hot dog stand.

Does this mean that the conservative element is no longer requiring us to order Freedom Fries? That the French are no longer constantly in retreat? That there will no longer be a fear of anything French invading American culture? Wow! What a difference a couple of years make!

Obama visited Paris in July, and the Iranian issue was at the heart of his meeting with Sarkozy. At a joint press conference afterward, Obama urged Iran to accept the West's proposal on its nuclear program, saying that Iran was creating a serious situation that endangered both Israel and the West.

According to the reports reaching Israel, Sarkozy told Obama at that meeting that if the new American president elected in November changed his country's policy toward Iran, that would be "very problematic."

This is amateurish and shameful. He wrote to the FORMER French president and said he looks forward to working with him?? Think for just a moment if, as the article pointed out, the French president wrote to former prez George Bush saying he looks forward to working with him the next 4 years. Bush is NOT the president, and NEITHER is Chirac! This really highlights how serious and stupid his letter is. If he wants to keep the respect he held on election day, he's going to have to get his act together real fast.

I can't help myself. Why would anyone look forward to working with a failure like "W"? However I am sure many leaders wrote Clinton and stated they looked forward to working with him and his foundation. Duh all of them retire to the golf course, many world leaders go on to do great work.

All of your posted stories come from the SAME lame website.
Do you not have ANY other source for 'news' besides that or youtube?
Do you ever bother to look for credible stories that can be documented and that are actually true?-

French President: Obama Utterly Immature, Empty of Content!
Apparently Barack Obama’s hypnotic trace and mesmerizing witchcraft have failed to convince at least one thinking European that he is the “promised one,” come to lead the world into daylight after eight devastating years of fog under George W. Bush.
According to a story in Haaretz.com**, “French President Nicolas Sarkozy is very critical of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama’s positions on Iran:
“Sarkozy has made his criticisms only in closed forums in France. But according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate’s stance on Iran as “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.”
hopefully the LIBS will start taking clues from the French who they adored during the BUSH years...........
now do us a favor and go play in traffic.......
