      are we blind?

how is giving billions to telco companies and telling them that they can't spend it on anything un-neutral, going to help the net neutrality? (read: we are giving money directly to the telcos who want to filter packets for profit in the first place!)

but isn't this is exactly what we tried to do with AIG? and then what happened? we gave them money and they abused it. the obama administration is now asking for regulatory powers over banks as to prevent "unfair" bonuses from ever being given out again. (read: government control.) but that's the point.

it's like deja vu all over again. this article reads like an Onion article. And the jokes on us.

Regulate the hell out of the telecom companies and make it a criminal offense punishable by fines and prison if they try monopolizing the internet for their greedy profits.

yes, President Obama please tell us about your plan to lower the deficit tremendously while raising the more than 3 trillion debt owed now. We'd love for you to explain it to us backard southerners because of course we'll believe anything if it comes out of a democrats mouth.

A lot of you may be too young to remember the breakup of the phone monopoly. While not everything has gone perfectly since that happened, I remember how much it cost to make long distance calls before the breakup. Even not accounting for inflation it costs lest to talk long distance now than it did then. If you add in inflation the cost is less than 5% what it was in the 60s.

Right on !!! I'm usually up on the news but do occasionally take a break. I thought net neutrality had already been established as a matter of law. I do remember the fight. Anything but net neutrality wouldn't pass the straight face test. President Obama is doing a good job.
