What I think this is about is that most cons don't (and probably can't) read. Seriously, they're illiterate. They don't care about the journalism world at large because they're used to having their news shouted to them in small soundbites via radio and television. Having alternatives to FOX in the game reminds cons that there's a whole world of information out there closed off to them simply because they don't know that many words with more than one syllable. Right now as they're tiny brains are struggling valiantly to process the information in this post, they're probably asking themselves who even really needs to use words that require sounding out?

Maybe you think I jest but think about it...How many times do we hear cons putting down "elitists" (whooo...Obama speaks well...how can we put a negative slant on that?) and deriding our public schools, or whining about "liberal" professors (well that's kinda convenient) or sobbing that public broadcasting is a waste of money because the lefties dominate the programming with annoying fact-based stories and documentaries about illegal wars and penguins and cute cuddly animals with fuzz around their cute lil chins? Who doesn't like to watch penguins? Helllooo? In fact, none other than yours truly is a sucker for cute, fuzzy, animals...Only I hate when they film one getting snatched up off the ground by a bird of prey or attacked by wolves or whatever...Though,come to think of it, wolves are cute and fuzzy in their own way. Their babies are even cuter (but not as fuzzy). Oh...Sorry. Where was I? Back to cons...
--Cons say the education system sucks but then they nominate, elect, re-elect and praise people like Bush, Sarah Palin, and John McCain (serious underachievers, to put it mildly) and they don't care if their hero Bush chooses underachieving nitwits like Monica Goodling and gives them 100K plus jobs. Who cares if more qualified cons or liberals deserved those jobs? Cons should have been outraged but they didn't care. They just sat back slack-jawed with their eyes glazed over and watched Rush. :-(
