Obama (Organizing) For America to teach 'getting paid to cause trouble' »
Posted By pc25 9 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsIf you log into Obama's web site, you can find a list of Organizing for America (OFA) events in your area. This past weekend and through April 5, volunteers coast to coast are doing the Pledge Canvass Project, collecting signatures in favor of Obama's health care, energy, and education initiatives, and urging people to contact their Congressmen to get support for Obama's budget.

Is OFA a threat to democracy? This AT article by Lola Manning casts a critical eye on the group, acknowledging its creepy similarity to Hitler's personal cult. All I can say is that I expect it to expand and become more effective. The Stimulus bill contained $5.2 billion for ‘community development' and ‘neighborhood stabilization', and that money will pay salaries of new ‘community organizers' and ‘labor organizers'. The professional organizers will call on the grass-roots volunteers as needed: "Hey, we're taking a busload of folks to protest at a banker's house. Care to join us?"
Stimulus money going to crackpot Obamabot Community Organizers
gotta love it.-

pc, I feel sick, very sick. The problem is too many people in this country aren't paying taxes and depending on the rest to support them. As long as the money flows from D.C. they don't care what it costs or who has to pay nor do they care what it's doing to the country? To the masses that Obama appeals to socialism seems like a solution to all their problems. They are sublimely ignorant of the real world and how it functions or any history earlier than their lifetime. I pray a lot, myself.

We are dealing with people who think they're smart but are really sublimely ignorant.

Curious, I signed into the site (with a fake name), typed in my zip code, and came up with a list of over thirty events within 200 miles, in the next two weeks. The only intriguing one is this: On April 4, at Roosevelt University's downtown Chicago campus, there will be a workshop entitled ‘Getting Paid to Cause Trouble: Careers in Organizing for Social Change (Community Service)':Obviously, this is stimulative stuff: Any economist will tell you that you can’t get higher productivity and economic growth without access to reruns of Family Feud. -

Of course, it wouldn’t be a liberal wish list if it didn’t include something for ACORN, and sure enough, there is $5.2 billion for community-development block grants and “neighborhood stabilization activities,” which ACORN is eligible to apply for. Finally, the bill allocates $650 million for activities related to the switch from analog to digital TV, including $90 million to educate “vulnerable populations” that they need to go out and get their converter boxes or lose their TV signals. Obviously, this is stimulative stuff: Any economist will tell you that you can’t get higher productivity and economic growth without access to reruns of Family Feud.

Between being first officially “reported” to the House and being voted on by the full House, bill managers stripped one whole section of the measure that created a Congressional Commission on Civil Service, thus removing the section that contained the language cited above concerning “a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people” and a possible requirement for “all individuals in the United States” to perform such service. The section could be restored during the Senate-House conference committee meeting. A new, separate bill containing that language has since been introduced in the House.
the $6 billion National Service boondoggle.......... welcome to Obamanation. -

So these are the jobs in the stimulus pork bill?

Using taxpayer dollars to fund political campaigns used to be illegal.
I wonder if they'll require people on social security to "volunteer" for the "Retired and Senior Volunteer Program" ? Like stuffing envelope or making telephone calls.

Within the past two weeks I have received three recorded messages from an organization called Rebuild & Renew America. The gist of the message is they will connect me to my congressman and/or senator so I can tell them how much I support Obama and his spending. Yes, I always let them connect me. I enjoy venting on their dime.

"Organizers from Illinois AFSCME, UNITE HERE, UFCW, Communities for an Equitable Olympics (CEO), Center for Community Change and other unions and community groups will be here to talk about jobs and internships available NOW!"
AFSCME, UNITE HERE, and UFCW are all unions. The other two groups are ‘progressive' Alinsky-model advocates for low-income people. Listed as a sponsor is the Chicago Center for Working-Class Studies, also a labor-oriented group.
"Come meet organizers from local community organizations and unions ‘walking the walk'," the page encourages. "Learn about careers in grassroots organizing."
Since when is training union organizers, or recruiting people into a union organizer training program, ‘community service'?

I confess, I am computer illiterate.
Anyway the idiot went ballistic on me, threatening dire consequences.
