  It's bad enough that a tower was built on the site where so many died. Do we have to change the name to ignore the significance of the site?

    Bad enough that it was named something ridiculous like "freedom tower" in honor of freedom fries. Better that it be renamed back to its old self to show extremists that while they can destroy something, however temporarily, America will never allow parts of itself to be destroyed or changed because of terrorist actions.

      Agreed, the name freedom tower has been tainted by the abuse of this word to justify the excesses of the Bush regime; the most annoying of which was the dubious motive they ascribed to the extremist claiming "they hate us because we are free". Freedom is a wonderful thing but it should not be reduced to a tag line or a symbol by those who have no real interest in its true expression.
