"More than 70% of Americans have been cutting down their Expenses to Prevent Foreclosure"

Let me guess the remaining 30% either work for the government or a bank.

This is what my family had to do in the early 1980's. We made it by being frugal and not confusing our WANTS with our NEEDS. We managed to keep our house WITHOUT a government HAND-OUT! It's a part of life for most and can be a most rewarding experience. Once this major asset is paid for, the sense of accomplishment is REAL! Things are always more appreciated when one WORKS for them and they are not considered an 'ENTITLEMENT"!

a typical bs headline.i have no doubt that 70% of all HOMEOWNERS[a previous writer picked off that little detail earlier] are doing some belt tightening to one degree or the other as is very common during any recessionary time.ive done a little myself.i do not believe for one second however that 70% of homeowners believe their home is in eminent danger of foreclosure which is what the headline screams.100% of the people who practice common sense stewardship of their finances do so to ensure their home is never foreclosed on...as well as their cars...that their kids can go to college... and there is plenty of food to eat..and on and on.
did this ass clown actually get paid for this absurd alarmist crap?

I think more people live in rental units than live in their own home. So lets say 40% of Americans live in a home they either own or are paying for.

If 10% of those living in their own homes owe nothing, they are probably not too worried about being foreclosed.

So if 36% of Americans are paying for a home and if 10% of America is un-employed then 10% of the 36% are worried about being foreclose, that would be about 3.6%.

So there you have it, about 3.6% of American families ( 76 million American Families )meaning about 2.7 million families are worried about being foreclosed. That's a lot of families, but not 70%.
