Fox News Still No.1 In Primetime, MSNBC Outranks CNN For First Time »
Posted By TimALoftis 9 months, 1 week ago in Arts & EntertainmentDuring the three most lucrative and widely watched hours of TV, the cable news channel MSNBC outranked CNN for the first time ever in March.
Viewers continued to flock to the TV versions of the op-ed page in the evenings, according to Nielsen Media Research ratings released Tuesday, posing trouble for CNN, which placed third for the month in weekday prime time from 8 to 11 p.m.

In this polarized political environment we live in today, people are continuing to gravitate toward slanted news reporting that they agree with instead of any honest, fair, and balanced reporting.

Over the last year or so, MSNBC has become nothing more than the 'Lefts' version of Fox News. In doing so both networks have become nothing more than 'Talk Radio' on TV during their late afternoon and evening hours. Glen Beck, Keith Olbermann, Bill O'Reilly, Rachael Maddow, and Sean Hannity offer very little in regard to factual reporting of the issues.
Frankly, I can think for myself...I don't need these overly partisan talking heads on cable news to do it for me. -

FTA: At the same time, CNN, which emphasizes a nonpartisan approach in prime time, is ceding some ground to MSNBC, a unit of NBC Universal. With its two left-leaning hosts, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, MSNBC attracted 1.14 million viewers in weekday prime time in March, edging out CNN for the first time.

Calling CNN “the real cable news network,” the network’s president, Jonathan Klein, played down the problems in prime time and said that the network’s total day audience in March was the biggest since 2003, when the war in Iraq began.
“The more our competitors entrench themselves in the partisan extremes, the more obvious our role is to viewers, and we like that,” he said. -

I listen to all three. CNN, MSNBC and FOX. I also look on the web and watch Russia today a Russia station in english and the news from Germany ARD. I have found it aways a good idea no matter what side you are on to listen to the other side. It will test your beleifs, which will strengthen them or enlight you on things you could do better. One way news is like a YES man. Nice for the support but wont enhance ones knowledge.

Hey engineer, please post a link to where Fox says they are the voice of the GOP.
Reply
If they said it, then it should be simply for you to prove that. Personally, I doubt they said that.
I'm calling you out to prove what you posted....
I did a Google on these keywords,
(Fox says they are the voice of the GOP)
I think you're confused and you're just grabbing crap out of thing air again, like all good democrats do. And that's SCARY! -

I watch all three networks. The problem with CNN is that they don't provide enough information in my point of view.

I can count on MSNBC and FOX to divulge information that ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, CNN, and typical newspapers "forget".
Lou Dobbs has a pretty good show on CNN, though. And I like his style of arguments. He's their only redeeming factor IMO. -

Well of course they are number 1. What else could they be when the nazi liberal state run media broadcasts nothing but crap in their far left agenda. People go to FOX news for the real truth and to hear things the liberal media is too arrogant and stupid to broadcast. The O'Reilly Factor was rated number 1 again for 100 months in a row. U can't get that from any combination of liberal media shows in that time slot. If we were living in a communist country the liberals media would be the state run media and FOX News would be the underground Freedom Network. Thank God for FOX News!

Although I concede that MSNBC's coverage can be slanted to the left, it is far more factual AND entertaining than its competitors. The news is reported with enthusiasm, passion and humor, which makes it very palatable as opposed to the generally dull, boring approach of the CNN newscasters and the vicious, often false and misleading "reporting" (and I use that term sarcastically) at Fox News.

I have heard repeatedly on many main stream outlets that President Obama has now said "the fundamentals of the economy are sound"...ala John McCain, and that is inaccurate. The President has said "fundamental aspects of the economy are sound," which is not the same thing! It says to me that there are SOME areas of our economy that are on firm footing, while there are others that are in BIG TROUBLE. Yet the way the news is spinning that comment, it sounds as if the President is saying that he was wrong and that he is now parroting John McCain - neither of which is true.-

Obama is stil campeigning and the main stream media is so invested in his success it will do anything to glorify his administration or attack his opponents. Olberman exists only to tear at opposing viewpoints or, more likely, the people who state them. Mathews has Buchannan on only as an old punching bag. He never lets the guy finish a sentence. Meanwhile the so-called news guys still bash Bush, just as Truman hounded Hoover at every opportunity right up to 1948. Fox is primarily an opinion source and they say so, though their opinion is often more balanced than MSNBC's reporting. The nation needs dissent.

How's that again? [main stream outlets that President Obama has now said "the fundamentals of the economy are sound"...ala John McCain] Could the main-stream crowd be positioning itself to turn on Obama just in case he Carterizes the economy? That would be a sight to behold. -

Can you people imagine what are country would look like today, if we did not have Fox news to keep the left wing news BS in check. If we had no Fox News, the entire country would be brain washed like the libs and dems are TOTALLY brainwashed by CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, New York times, LA Times, Air America, the list of lefty BS news just goes on and on and on...

I think what's going on is that people are FINALLY starting to pay attention to the fact that most media are in the tank for Obama and the left. People are starting to realize that most news sources are LEFT WING. That's why so many are now tuning into Fox, so they can have the truth about what's REALLY going on. This explains why so many news sources are on the brink of going DOWN the tubes. People are paying attention now, they are no longer buying the BS that most news sources are and have been spewing. Fox news will only continue to grow, until the mighty Obama has them SHUT DOWN that is. Obama does not like any criticism or opposition, none!

I'll bet that soon the FAIRNESS ACT will come back up and the goofy dems will do their best to instate it.

Keep drinking Obama's bath water and praying to your idol. By all means watch Jon Seward, Olberdork, et al. Keep supporting a party that is bankrupting future generations and is led by a tool of the Congressional leadership who isn't smart enough to even make a successful cabinet appointment.

Every day the News is more and more like the Tabloids. How many "news" Stories doe we have to see about the Octomom. Tha;t s something that Inside Edition and Extra report on. This all started with Faux News when the sued to distort the news. All of the networks followed suit.

For Fox being number one. I guerss there are a lot of unintelligent gullible people out there watching made up news. Hopefully these people are intelligent enought to know it's not news. But with the dumbing down of tha nation by the Bush administration, I can see how people think that this is News. -
