Posted By pc25 8 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsThe man now running General Motors after Barack Obama demanded the resignation of former CEO Rick Wagoner wants to thank America for all the cash. Really, he does. Fritz Henderson just doesn’t think it will help, and wants to declare bankruptcy — as conservatives suggested before we spent $14 billion to prop them up:

GM should have gone into bankruptcy years ago. They could have restructured and renegotiated retirement contracts along with current contracts, thus restructuring into a viable business instead of the socialist, government-supported paycheck it's been for decades.

It seems obvious that the administration is not going to force union concessions
Reply
The only way that will happen is through bankruptcy
The UAW is taking their members the same route followed by the steel unions who refused to make significant concessions - mills closed and workers lost their jobs permanently
It really doesn't look any better at Chrysler
Robert Nardelli has led Chrysler since August 2007. He was the former CEO of Home Depot and almost ran that company into the ground
What does he know about the auto industry and why wasn't he asked to step down? -

Of course, the GM bankruptcy should have happened months and billions of dollars ago. Btw, do you think we, the taxpayers, will ever get an accounting of how the bailout money including the TARP was spent? I have begun wondering if there isn't a lot of graft going on in these bailouts and somebody is salting away a lot of cash. Some might say I'm overreaching but is or was there any oversight to stop it? No, I don't think so.

Well, if Pres. Obama hadn't been "bushwacked" with the former administration's setting up this mess, he would have something solid to build on. What a fiasco these last eight years have been! At least we've got someone who doesn't lie without any conscience. He ADMITS mistakes, not "mistakes were made."
