Cable News’s newest superstar Glenn Beck has upped the ante on the scale of fear. Beck now claims that Obama is not leading the world to socialism, but instead the president is marching the nation towards a happy faced fascism. Of course he provides no evidence for his claim, but he puts on a heck of a show while saying it.

That's a valid point, Hhussk. I have noticed that the only thing PoliticusUSA.com seems to attempt is throwing mud at anyone that is not a liberal. I have pointed out several times over the past week or so where they used out of context quotes, false headlines, fictional accounts, etc. to make their case. Any source that uses lies and tricks to try to further their agenda can not be trusted. But a lot of Propeller liberals are attracted to that source and defend the tactics they use.

Give him time. It's only been a couple months. So far he's:
1. Lied about 'no lobbyists' in his administration.
2. Lied about 'no earmarks' in bills he would sign.
3. Hired multiple tax evaders and tax cheats to his administration.
4. Unilaterally fired a private citizen from his position as CEO.
5. Raised taxes on all tobacco by 62 cents, which will mostly affect the poor.
6. Added an extra $13 dollars in your paycheck without changing tax rates, which means you actually have to pay it back next year in income taxes.
7. Spent more money than all the other Presidents in history combined.
8. Proposed and is enacting the largest expansion of government ever.
...and it's only been two months.

time to make our work force as productive as possible and time to take the pressure off our businesses to provide the coverage.
on the other hand i'm very pleased about the new foia regulations and increases in pell grants, and the proposed elimination of the the middle-man in the student loan program.
so much more to be done and we have to help. we need to shower obama with support so he can implement the policies that are needed to save western civilization.

Here, let me explain it to you.
A fascist government is run by a dictator. If Bush were a fascist, he would still be in power...but no, he stepped down with absolutely no problem.
However, the unilateral firing of a private citizen (Wagoner) from his company (GM) is completely fascism.

Only someone who understands even less than him about either could possibly construe his nonsense as anything other than the ramblings of a raving lunatic.
Clearly, thinksalot was unable to distinguish between jingoism and yellow journalism from actual patriotism. Just like that other conservative great white whale, Rush, Beck doesn't give a damn about anything but trying to drive up his ratings to make a buck (well, in Rush's case, perhaps also where his next hit of Oxycontin is coming from).
We're currently not 'on top of' anything. Our health care system is the worst of the first world nations. Our economy is a mess. We trail in educating our own population, with fewer new graduates in the sciences year after year. Our standard of living has been dropping. Unemployment is surging. And none of that is sudden.
The Bush administration destroyed our political credibility, and systematically worked to dismantle Constitutional rule of law (ignoring any laws it found inconvenient, while passing or subverting laws to expand it's own powers however possible [examples: ignoring, then gutting FISA , the PATRIOT Act, illegal wiretapping, blatant abuse of 'signing statements', the creation of Homeland Security [a huge debacle], all in the name of expanding presidential power. The list goes on]). Bush p*ssed away our budget surplus and dug (to that point) the deepest financial pit the world had ever seen. The Bush Administration fabricated false evidence to justify attacking a nation that has never attacked us, while allowing to escape the real enemies who did attack us, tried to cut benefits for enlisted soldiers at the same time they were sending them into harm's way, committed war crimes, and did all that while stealing from the public coffers by awarding illegal no-bid contracts billions of dollars in scope to their own cronies (at Halliburton and other companies).
Nothing about any of those actions was 'patriotic'. Nothing about those actions was 'American'. Yet, all while Bush and the other criminals running his administration tried to wrap themselves as tightly as possible within the flag they were busy desecrating. Really, they should all be tried for war crimes, high crimes, and treason, though the odds of that happening are depressingly slim.
Wake up and smell the coffee. Nothing about trying to repair the tatters we've been left in is going to be pleasant. Certainly, not everything the new Administration will do will be popular.
And it's guaranteed that the Dittoheads and other mouth breathers who can't think for themselves will attack anything they do, regardless of whether there is any basis for those attacks. Dittoheads and their ilk don't worry about reality. They only believe what they want to hear.
None of that makes Beck any less of a flag-waving hack. -
