LONDON: In a significant diplomatic breakthrough, U.S. President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev agreed here on Wednesday to reopen talks on reducing their nuclear warheads. They met on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

    This is indeed good news. Both nations have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world a thousand times than is needed. More weapons the better the odds of an accident or terrorists obtaining them.

      Good story newslover. This would be a good thing for the world if it happens. The SALT talks were a good beginning but then we elected Bush.

      I seriously doubt that terrorists will ever have the wherewithal to be a Nuclear threat.

      Can you imagine someone carrying enough material for a bomb in a suitcase? With Uranium much much heavier than lead what do you think the average suitcase bomb might weigh? It would be upwards of a thousand pounds. And then there's the little matter of triggering it. And don't forget, it would have to be bomb grade, just any ole Uranium wouldn't do.
