So far, it appears the Conficker C virus is not doing much damage, as many had predicted it would. This keeps happening: the Cold War, Comet Hale-Bopp, Y2K – all of these events were supposed to bring about the end of the world, or at least a fundamental change in it. But they failed to live up to expectations.
