An Acorn Whistleblower Testifies in Court
The group's ties to Obama are extensive.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122533169940482893...
Acorn, the liberal "community organizing" group that claims it will deploy 15,000 get-out-the-vote workers on Election Day, can't stay out of the news.
The FBI is investigating its voter registration efforts in several states, amid allegations that almost a third of the 1.3 million cards it turned in are invalid. And yesterday, a former employee of Acorn testified in a Pennsylvania state court that the group's quality-control efforts were "minimal or nonexistent" and largely window dressing. Anita MonCrief also says that Acorn was given lists of potential donors by several Democratic presidential campaigns, including that of Barack Obama, to troll for contributions.
The Obama campaign denies it "has any ties" to Acorn, but Mr. Obama's ties are extensive. In 1992 he headed a registration effort for Project Vote, an Acorn partner at the time. He did so well that he was made a top trainer for Acorn's Chicago conferences. In 1995, he represented Acorn in a key case upholding the constitutionality of the new Motor Voter Act -- the first law passed by the Clinton administration -- which created the mandated, nationwide postcard voter registration system that Acorn workers are using to flood election offices with bogus registrations.
Ms. MonCrief testified that in November 2007 Project Vote development director Karyn Gillette told her she had direct contact with the Obama campaign and had obtained their donor lists. Ms. MonCrief also testified she was given a spreadsheet to use in cultivating Obama donors who had maxed out on donations to the candidate, but who could contribute to voter registration efforts. Project Vote calls the allegation "absolutely false."-

instead of trying to change the scoreboard well after the game is over (you still lost, btw) why aren't you looking to the future and getting angry at the repubs for their complete lack of ideas and vision?

Scandal Grows-- Another ACORN Worker Pleads Guilty In Missouri
The Missouri Republican Party released this report on ACORN voter fraud crimes in Missouri.
The list of crimes is extensive as you can see below.
It is no wonder then that Senator Claire McCaskill (Dem-MO) voted last week to allow funding for ACORN in the Youth Brigades Bill.-

for years the republican party has been trying to suppress minority voter registration in Missouri so i am sure a lot republicans think: minority voter registration is a crime.

the worst thing about all of this is: There were numerous reports of voter fraud, ballot shenanigans, people being bussed to different precincts to vote several times. Reports of this made the person reporting the problem look like the guilty party.

What is sick about this is the role the media played in taking justice away from the courts and putting it in their own hands.-

We used to have idealogical differences but now I think some of you people are simply going off the deep end! Let's see how this thing plays out. My guess is that it remains a very low level story and never rises above that. Kind of like the GOP voter fraud in Ohio '04. Or the accusations of fraud in Florida in '00. But I have never seen the sort of desperation I am now seeing from the Right. You don't realize how sad and pathetic your comments come across.

"But I do wonder if many people realize the lengths that the MSM would go to in order to see their boy to the finish line."
A news journalist never writes in such a way. Not even at the "ultra-liberal" NYT. This shows the clear and obvious bias of the story writer. This is Limbaughesque rhetoric.
But if you think we want these kind of stories suppressed. I say H-LL NO! Bring 'em on. Anyone involved in voter fraud should be prosecuted. But until we see convictions and direct links to Obama himself I could really give a sh-t! This is all a bunch a supposition based on rather vague statements. You people were screaming to high heaven about ACORN months ago. But is ACORN really the reason you lost. Hardly!
The other rather humorous part is that now that you have lost we are hearing the very sort of charges many Dems were leveling at your side in '00. And of course there were the same accusations of direct linkage to the Bush campaign. Although the allegations sounded rather serious they went nowhere in the end.
But his time the popular vote was quite clear with a difference of 5.8 million. You all don't have much credibility left after the garbage you spewed during the election but to even try to suggest this election was somehow "stolen" your credibility is going to be down to nil. IMO it is already.
And what is the mythical MSM? Is Fox(largest cable news viewership)not part of that now? Is the WSJ no longer a member because Rupert owns it? Is Rush Limbaugh himself not now part of this (he claims to have 25 million listeners afterall). Or are their opinions so far out (like many of yours) they don't fit into the mainstream anymore? Does this mean you are all now social deviants?

I happen to have information on that.

The current goal is to try and create a channel for Newspapers to become tax-exempt. This form of exemption would basically allow them to support the Democrats like they always do, and become funded by the government.
Note: The only requirement I have heard they have to follow is that they cannot endorse candidates. Everything else is fair game. I'll see if I can find a link.

You may very well be right that is remains a low level story. Now juxtapose your statement with the fact that the newspaper media is going out of business.-

Newspapers are the 8-tracks of the aughts! Doomed by technology. The question then becomes, does that mean bloggers like this maroon will be our news sources in the future? A scary thought. Clearly this guy either never was taught journalism or he intentionally violated one of its cardinal rules. Never directly state your bias.

And what is the mythical MSM?
Reply
MSM, or the Mainstream Media, is a term that developed out of research journals from News Media Research and Pew polling that showed that by a margin of 8:1 news reporters vote for the liberal candidate. From this research, which is normally assembled every year, reporters are asked to indicate their political leanings and votes.
By inference and implication, MSM used to fall on the shoulders of the "Big 3" (ABC, CBS, and NBC) as well as the NY Times, Los Angelos Times, and a few other papers that spanned the globe in their subscribership. But since the globalization of information and the internet, MSM now basically is allotted to media that consistantly slants information, leaving out important details, usually towards a liberal bias.
FOX news, as you say, is Mainstream. But they are not necessarily Mainstream Media. Being number #1 in a world of many news organizations only means they are the best, not the majority.
Thank Me.-

I can only say laughable....when I flipped through the other day and Fox was showing one of their pretty blond anchors from the side behind a desk and she had a skirt slit up to her waist, you see how they attract ratings. Nobody ever said Murdoch was stupid. But there is now so much opinion and mindless chatter on both Fox and MSNBC that the actual news rarely gets discussed. CNN has gotten so bad it's bearly watchable except for Fareed Zakaria. They lost complete credibility by ever putting Beck on the air. Of course he is now at Fox where he truly belongs.
Reply
O'Reilly, Hannity and Beck...what lineup! Not a bit of reason between the three of them. Swollen egos on the level of Limbaugh. The Curly, Moe and Larry of punditry. Of course Olberman and Matthews suffer from the same self worship. But anyone preaching a partisan position is like the writer of this article...giving you half the story at best. Educating yourself has actually become more difficult in this world even with the plethora of information on the net. Too much "garbage in, garbage out". The evening linep on Fox is an excellent example of that process. Thankfully it is but a relatively small number of Americans who are poisoned nightly. Especially compared to the damage Limbaugh does on a daily basis.

So McCain didn't lose in a landslide because he...
a) ran a terrible campaign
b) picked a nitwit for a running mate
c) completely choked when the financial crisis broke.
Instead he lost because some workers at ACORN turned in a bunch of phony registrations -- even though none of those *registrations* actually resulted in any *votes*.
hmmm...-

McCain lost because he was McCain, an almost anti-conservative Republican. The point is that he never really had a chance in the first place. It's not like the New York Times, which previously fawned over him, would endorse him. No, instead they ran a hit piece on him in a marriage scandal (which was immediately proven untrue). Later they endorse Obama.
The premise here is that ACORN has been, and is still, corrupt. President Obama has ties to ACORN. And what this leads to is the fact that information, which would normally be released, was shelved because of the fear that it would hurt Democrats. -

this is not about McCain.........this is about the NY TIMES considering you to be too naive and too much of a rube to make an educated decision on your own. This is about the NY TIMES making a decision not only for you but for tens of thousands of other people. This is about the NY TIMES who had no problem trying to slander McCain by running that Vicki Ismann story on the flimsiest of evidence and sitting on a story in which there has already been testimony given to a jury. This is about the major new outlets not living up to their responsibility of properly vetting a candidate. A low level story ?not when you have Cornyn (Bring ne the head of Bush on a plate) a democrat wanting to investigate this.

Another story omitted by the NYT to cover Obama bin Laden's already many scandals. The NYT. What a joke. Aren't they the same ones who omitted the fact that Spanish lawyer did time in jail for his link to terrorist groups. U remember the one who said he was filing something against Bush? It's amazing. The people at the NYT are so arrogant and so stupid they just can't understand that this type of shoddy reporting is exactly why they are financially going down the commode. It doesn't matter. Obama bin Laden will be given another free pass. The more scandal he gets into the more the nazi liberals like him.

Interestingly enough the voting activities UN monitor group that Carter has dealt with in the past said that NEITHER the 2000 and 2004 elections would have been considered valid according to the rules they require in third world countries.

America was DONE with the cons. big time. Bushco simply inflicted too much damage on this country. McCain DID look like McSame, old, out of touch, status quo, no new ideas. And Palin was the final nail in the coffin.
Obama would've had to kill a kindly old lady on live TV to lose that election. -
