UK banks expect to pick up lending for the first time since 2007 »

The Bank of England's Credit Conditions Survey showed that a net 14.8pc of
those asked expected to boost their lending to households over the current
quarter. It is the first positive response since September 2007 – the month
the implosion of Northern Rock brought home the scale of the crisis. The
latest figure contrasts with the net 21.2pc who expected household lending
to fall in the previous survey.
