Posted By ChangeToday 7 months, 1 week ago in NewsI am sure it is of no surprise to anyone that Fox News rates Obama’ s Job Approval 2.5 points lower than the national average. The data compiled for March 24th through April 1st showed that President Obama had a 60.5 approval rating with a 32.5 disapproval rating with a 28 point spread. Fox News data showed a 58 approval rating with a 32 disapproval rating with a 26 spread.

Not to mention that Fox rating is 2.5 percent below the AVERAGE, everyone knows what and average is right? So somewhere some other organization is rating Obama 2.5 percent above the national AVERAGE, but lets not be realistic and remember this story is about an AVERAGE, lets not even consider what average means, how an average is arrived at, that wouldn't be fun now would it, that wouldn't allow anyone to use their prejudice against the right to blast fox for having a number that isn't the average, now where is the story about someone rating Obama above the national average???? So people with a prejudice against left leaning organisations can have their chance to rip others?

Nope I'm pretty sure McCain/Palin lost. The Repubicans who also lost several seats in both the House and Senate are the losers.

I've never owned a TV in my life - well once for a week someone dumped one on me and it sat there like a lemon till I gave it away..
I did watch the Queen's Coronation in 1952 and Obama's Inauguration online and when I lived in SF reruns of Hollywood Classics all night with my eyelids propped open with matchsticks..
But own one?

Hhussk has a point. There are a myriad variety of FOX viewers. Many Liberals watch.
Reply
I think the point to consider is this ... Is FOX more conservative than ABC, CBS, or NBC?
They certainly never miss an opportunity to provide and reinforce every Republican National Committee "Talking Point".
After all, the man in charge of FOX's content was a highly placed executive of Republican Media.
But trying to assess differences between CBS, ABC, and NBC with FOX is like trying to assess the difference between Ecru and Beige.
Sure, FOX is a bit more politicized than the others. But the ownership and management of the other three have their own agenda.
They are all owned by large, multi-national corporations with their own business agenda before Congress.
And, as virtually EVERYONE in America knows, multi-national corporations have but one desire - to make money - and to have protections from Government to make money - in any way they deem necessary.
.
I think that's why ABC, CBS, and NBC have been so highly critical of Obama of late. These companies are more deferential to CONGRESS than a sitting President. And they recognize that Congress has been a bit more in opposition to President Obama lately.

Most polling have a range of plus and minus so 2.5 points off is not all that much off. And Fox has Obama's disapproval rating at .5 points less than the national average.
Reply
What matters is that even Fox can't argue with the fact that Obama is a popular president and has a great approval rating.-

And that is the point. Fox news is not trying to argue that Obama isn't popular. Even I'm well aware that President Obama is popular. However, if the numbers drop - and they will - are you going to be able to admit it when he is not popular... -

I've never known FOX News to lie or get their facts confused about anything

So did they ever catch the al Queda members who were setting the fires in So.Calf. last year?
How about all those WMD caches they kept finding in Iraq. How did those turn out?
What about the suit Fox filed to ensure that they have they have the right to broadcast dis-information?
Fox recently accuses White House of trying to impose Sharia law in US. -

You are completely delusional. Even Bush had good approval ratings (something like 85% after 9/11) until he let Cheney and the neocons walk all over him. He went from that peak to some of the lowest numbers ever recorded. A reminder it took that long to show many Americans he had very poor leadership skills despite his previous executive experience. Far too early to judge Obama.
Reply
Obama slips up and he will get criticized by the Left (already has been) but I will take his judgment over GW's any day. It would take a real effort to do worse.
Funny that Repubs even comment on this. I thought you didn't react to polls! That's what we heard throughout the Clinton years. Hypocrites! Fair and Balanced my -ss! You are nothing of the sort just like Faux News. -

I only propped the story because I wanted to talk about its implication. Namely, the implication that this is actually a news story.
Reply
It's not a news story. It's a joke of a news story. Because behind the blame-pointing title, the general point is that Fox News had a poll which falls within the margin of error of the other polls.
...and yet, this is news? -

Well I'm sure FOX News knows what they are talking about. I wouldn't trust the state run liberal media under any circumstances. Since the only things the state run liberal media does is lie and omit facts what else can I believe. I've never known FOX News to lie or get their facts confused about anything but the state run liberal media does this on a regular basis.

LOL ... Commodore1, you're being silly.

Surely you must know that Liberals are notorious for providing every conceivable point of view. That's what gets Liberals in trouble - too many points to consider.
Totaliltarian regimes are the ones I wouldn't trust ... these are people who control the message with a vindictive ferocity - - - like the former Soviet Union - or even the MODERN Soviet Union.
Aren't you aware that Putin (or his operatives) regularly harass journalist who try to uncover truth. Some have even wound up dead or poisoned.
Just like in this country - the Modern Republican party - (which has a tendency to emulate much of the style of the Modern Soviet Union) - has gone so far as to launch reprisals against American citizens who speak truth.
For instance, when Joseph Wilson wrote an extensive article explaining how George W. Bush was LYING to promote an arbitrary war against Iraq - they outed his wife as an undercover CIA agent.
This is a treasonable offense! But of course, Modern Republicans don't care enough about our nation to even care who gets hurt from such a reprisal.
In fact, Modern Republicans have such little regard for our nation, for America - they are willing to suspend ANY and EVERY traditional value we have known for 200 years to pursue their cynical, Morally Vacant Ideology.
FOX just provides them an unfettered venue to promote this.
I can only guess that they don't care that FOX was invented by a "John Birch" style, arch-Conservative who wasn't even an American citizen.

I would also like to point out that we are coming up on the 25 year anniversary of the day in June ... 1984, when Right Wingers shot and killed a Liberal Talk Show host in Denver.
Reply
His name was Alan Berg.
No, trust me Commodore1, you are better off ... we ALL are better off ... if we keep an eye on Mainstream Media ... and their tendency to promote Right Wing causes and Ideologies.
Because we don't WANT to have a media like The Soviet Union ... or Modern Russia ... where the party line is all you hear.
Sure, we have that with FOX ... but I fear the other major stations have been given the go-ahead by FOX's success to embrace the same Right Wing agenda.
And I haven't even mentioned SBC - founded by Julian Sinclair - another "John Bircher" type fellow who has his mission to elect Republicans.
And lest you laugh and say 'who' ... Julian Sinclair operates the MOST independent media outlets in our nation.
Julian Sinclair is the fellow who ORDERED every one of these outlets to air the Swift-Boat Smears a week before the 2004 election ... UNCHALLENGED!
This is EXACTLY what they do in Putin's Russia ... and Third World nations the world over.
And this is EXACTLY the vision that The Modern Republican has for The United States of America ... to turn her into a Third World type nation.
They've already succeeded in keeping our nation from providing health care to her citizens - something that ONLY Third World nations share with America.
That is the vision The Modern Right has of America ... to them ... She is ... and will remain ... a small minded, Third World nation ... ... ... except for our military ... ... ... which is the ONLY thing that The Modern Republican seems to like about our nation.

Never underestimate how much stupider a pack of cons are vs. just one. Murdock is just selling to the lowest common denominator, selling to america the stupid. -

I keep hearing how great Barry is or how powerful his mind is. Why is it, every time he opens his mouth or signs a bill jobs disappear along with consumer's confidence?
Reply
I like that he's managing to trim the work force by over 8% and no one from the left understands why this is a bad thing. As a business person, any job loses now are bad. Especially when you realize most loses now are union manufacturing positions. The same guys who voted for hope and change are now unemployed. I wonder how many will remain unemployed in 2010 and 2012. Well, at least now, Jimmy Carter is no longer the worst President ever. He's close but Barry has saved him.-

All I keep hearing on the news is bad news.

And the news reporters keep saying Obama isn't doing enough.
Sounds like Mainstream Media has 'jumped the shark' on Obama.
Although- on one point we can agree. George W. Bush is the worst president in American History.
No Doubt.
And history will prevail on this point.
Even many Republicans now admit this point. They have resorted to calling him a Liberal and / or ... not really a Republican.
Only the looniest of loonies still think he was a good president.
