OKLAHOMA CITY -- A bill in the Oklahoma Legislature would allow pregnant women to use deadly force in order to save the lives of their babies. A woman was convicted of manslaughter for killing her boyfriend who battered her and killed her fetus.

    I'm pro-choice, and yet I support a woman's right to protect her fetus from a batterer. No woman should face manslaughter charges for injuring or killing a batterer to protect a fetus. I think it should be very narrow, however, so anti-abortionists couldn't extend it to doctors providing abortions to women who request them.
