Obama raced to the UN Security Concil to have them really talk bad to North Korea. The problem is the UN Security Council has two members, Russia and China, who yawned and said, "What us worry, no way." Yep, Obummer failed this test.

Neither the Bush nor the Clinton Administration's strategies proved to be successful in controlling North Korea's nuclear ambitions.

In each case this regime promised to end its nuclear program and subsequently broke its promise.
Seem to me that Obama couldnt do worse than the last two administrations. Atleast Obama has a little less than 4 years to see what he can do differently.

The Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations each incorrectly assumed that North Korea's leader actually gives-a-fig about his people's sufferings. They have the liberal's chief fault (and Bush was in many ways a liberal), of assuming that other leaders care as much about their citizens simply because they do. While Obama and the U.N. talk, Kim Jung IL (and the leaders of Iran) ACT on their plans, for it costs them NOTHING to talk, and buys them valuable time. If the West wishes to fool itself, Kim Jung IL, et al, will gladly encourage these misperceptions. If one studies it, this is what is usually wrong with the Left's approach to many problems. Their solutions look fine on paper, but when placed into action in the REAL WORLD, fall on their face because they have failed to take human nature into account, a fatal omission for ANY plan of action involving other nations or people. But, they fail to learn. For the learning process consists of NOT REPEATING something that didn't work before, which proves they're either woefully ignorant of history, or willingly ignoring its lessons.

May GOD help us, for Secretary of State Clinton (as was Madeleine K. Albright before her) is in way over her head! -

To be honest, this is not even close to being a 'crisis'. Maybe some people want it to be a crisis, perhaps they can benefit in some way if something serious were to happen, so they try to blow this out of proportion.

North Korea is really in no position to attack anyone, and Kim Jong Il, whether he cares about his people or only himself, knows that if he attempts anything he'll get his ass handed to him. -

This is a quote:

"And in the 1970's three American Presidents negotiated with the Soviet leaders in attempts to halt the growth of the nuclear arms race.
We sought to establish rules of behavior that would reduce the risks of conflict, and we searched for areas of cooperation that could make our relations reciprocal and productive, not only for the sake of our two nations but for the security and peace of the entire world.Preventing nuclear war is the foremost responsibility of the two superpowers. That's why we've negotiated the strategic arms limitation treaties--SALT I and SALT II.
Especially now, in a time of great tension, observing the mutual constraints imposed by the terms of these treaties will be in the best interest of both countries and will help to preserve world peace.
I will consult very closely with the Congress on this matter as we strive to control nuclear weapons. That effort to control nuclear weapons will not be abandoned."
