As a marriage counselor that concerns me, and it further concerns me that articles which make it seem normal or customary may help folks further rationalize the move out of the bedroom.

In and of itself it wouldn't be a problem. We can easily appreciate that better rested people can be better partners. However, if these same couples also work long hours and have little time at home together, then spend their little time on their separate laptop computers or separate TV sets, enjoy their separate online social networks and virtual lives ... and marital communication deteriorates into a diminishing number of more cryptic text messages ... And we go on to say, "Hey, that's the norm these days...," then where does it lead us?
