0bama's Apology Tour An Embarrassment To America »

I would laugh if it weren't for the fact that it is our America that is being embarrassed.
"The 0bama "presidency" is rapidly shaping up to be a major disaster in both the domestic and foreign policy arenas, the extent of which just might exponentially surpass the disaster that was Jimmy Carter."
"As for Merkel and Sarkozy, they obviously (and quite rightly) sense serious weakness in Obama, as well as a sharp decline in the future economic viability of America, while at the same time ignoring the fact that the EU is swirling in the bottom of the loo right along with us."
"Maybe Obama thought his new “smart power” approach to U.S. diplomacy would woo his European counterparts into reciprocating their love for America. But defiant European leaders shunned Obama’s romantic advances, insisting instead on a redistribution of global power."

As expected Obama and his act is starting to wear thin in Europe.

    From today's Spiegel

Obama Bashing in Bavaria and Paris

US President Barack Obama says Turkey's future is in the European Union. Not everyone agrees. Numerous politicians in Germany have gone on the attack, and even French President Sarkozy is unimpressed. Turkey's role at the NATO summit has soured the mood.

During his stay in Europe, everybody seemed eager to be President Barack Obama's friend. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi threw his arm around the US leader. French President Nicolas Sarkozy seemed to be on Obama's heels wherever he went during the G-20 meeting in London, the NATO summit in Strasbourg and the EU get-together in Prague. Even Russian President Dmitry Medvedev seemed to be enjoying his proximity to the American superstar.

Now that Obama is in Turkey, however, some political camps -- particularly in Germany -- have discovered the political efficacy of Obama bashing. While in Ankara, Obama reiterated his support for Turkish membership in the European Union, a position he first voiced on Sunday in Prague. That doesn't sit well with some.

I'm sure Russia is just loving this and doing some real planning about the possibility of acquiring large chunks of political real estate in Europe and South America in the near future.

Analysis: What has Barack Obama's first foreign tour really achieved?
Standing in an Istanbul hotel beneath huge crystal chandeliers and a ceiling decorated with Ottoman motifs, David Axelrod argued that Mr Obama's first appearance on the world stage had been an "great success" that had yielded "tangible progress".

Certainly, Mr Obama was feted across Europe. In Prague's Hradcany Square, more than 20,000 Czechs turned out on a Sunday morning to hear him promise to seek a "world without nuclear weapons" and demand that "the voices for peace and progress must be raised together".

But Mr Obama returns to the United States with few demonstrable results to show for his tireless efforts to woo Europe and rebuild relations after President George W. Bush by apologising for American "arrogance" and declaring at every turn that he wants "to listen, to learn and to lead".

In a deft attempt to manage expectations, he scaled down what he was asking for even before he stepped on Air Force One bound for London. This meant that even though the G20 summit yielded a fraction of the economic stimulus measures he could claim a historic success.

The same pattern followed at the Nato summit when allies came up with a paltry 5,000 troops for Afghanistan, including 3,000 that will be just a temporary election force and 600 that the Germans had already promised Mr Bush, compared to the 21,000 Mr Obama had just committed.

Seems the foreign press is more honest in evaluating the success of Obama's trip than the press here in the US

Bush embarrassed America worse than Obama could ever hope to. Y'all are living in a dream world. It doesn't exist outside this country. Barack is just trying to undo some of the damage your leadership is responsible for. Conservatism needs to grow up and face the music. It f*cked up, and will be paying for it for some time.

Embarrassment is putting it mild. How about, "justifying Islamic hatred toward the US and US interests"? Muhammadans will say, "See!!! SEE!!! Even a US President agrees with us that America is evil and needs to be destroyed! ALLAH IS GREATER!!!"

"0bama and the United States are seen by Russia as weak and naive" according to former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton.“The Russian perception of total weakness in the West seems comical to us but is a real thought in Russia with hidden dangers.”
Bolton was responding to news stories that a Russian foreign ministry “expert” predicts that the U.S. will beak up and fragnment into several independent states. Meanwhile Russia continues to bully Europe and watches to the west for signs of weakness which were evident in 0bama's first foreign tour as President.

Throughout his presidential campaign, 0bama's rivals repeatedly questioned whether his youth and relative inexperience would make him a pushover when he came face to face with world leaders. Now we know the answer. They will show our President the 'way'. We will have to gather our 'strength' through our next few elections.
