So long ago, Vermont passed one of the first of its kind laws protecting the civil rights of gays and lesbians in public accommodations, housing, and assuring protection against discrimination on the job. Today, Vermonters celebrate equality for all as they allow gays and lesbians to wed. The law in Vermont lacks a clause that says that only Vermonters can wed there. Truly, they have taken a huge leap forward.
