jovial is putting on a story that twists words and makes silly accusations twisting words again. The left wing nuttiness rises again. Anything considered conservative is evil, hate speech and now leading to violence. The people inciting violence are the left wing when a conservative speaker goes to a university. Then the violence erupts from the liberals who talk about inclusion and compassion. Poor jovial taken for a buggy ride again. Then the liberals always have to get in a feeding frenzy and buy the story hook, line, and sinker. engineer for example.
And then there is eagle dimple talking like a ditto head. He said ditto to agree with what another silly liberal said. The left has gone completely bonkers. -

I'm sure of it, jovial and I think the Republican political figures (including the"entertainers") who are stroking the egos of dangerously unstable neocon bozos and encouraging them to take up arms or start a "revolution" or have a pity party or whatever should be SHUT DOWN. That means a minimum of five years at a maximum security federal prison. Cons are out of control. Seriously. ;-(

....an utterly morally bankrupt party like the Repug Party has no other choice but to incite and divide... like Dumya did for 8 years! Dumya was just the blatant case as Newt's Contract with America has proven to be just a pack of lies too!

What do you expect from the party of watergate, Iran Contra and Plamegate?
Reply
The Party of torture, preemptive war, no caring for collateral damage, eavesdropping on Americans, political assassination by hellfire missile, Gitmo, the loss of habeas corpus, and support to the Unitary Executive; but, only if a repug is president.
We have a party in America that meets the critieria to be a terrorist organization! -

The gunman in Pittsburgh who killed those three policemen a few days ago did so, according to his own statements, because "he feared Obama and the inevitable gun bans" that he'd been convinced Obama wants to push through. Glenn Beck has ranted on and on about this (inevitable gun ban) for weeks, and now we have three dead cops because some nut with a gun believed it.
Reply
I don't think the right wing pundits are exactly responsible for these deaths, but I do hold them culpable to the extent that they stoked (and continue to stoke) a fire burning under the feet of these nut jobs who are all too willing to "take up arms and take the country back" just like people such as Michelle Bachmann are encouraging people to do. They do, at least to a certain extent, have blood on their hands for inciting the riots that are now ensuing. -

This is what the Truth in Telecommunications Act that Reagan vetoed was supposed to stiffle! This is why the repugs of today oppose the Fairness Act.... devil be damned if it takes longer on the news to homestly tell both sides of the story, if it saves America!

The right wingers have a history of inhumanity: wanted Patton to take his Tank Corps against the Russians to continue WW2 and MacArthur to cross the Yalu against the Chinese. Can we have more unscruppled moraless people in America?

As usual, your perspective is as blind as your grasp of history. Never mind that our revolution against Great Britain and the War Against Northern Aggression proves that there are issues worth waxing violent over...
1. While Stalin starved millions, you leftists embraced and defended him, even lying through your rotten teeth about the fate of millions across Russia. How many would still be alive had the truth been told and there had been a bit of pressure on your precious Uncle Joe?
2. As rumors of mass extinction leaked out of Nazi-controlled Europe, the International Red Cross executed a perfunctory inspection at the Nazi showcase concentration camp, Theresianstadt. The IRC, which to this day refuses to recognize its counterpart Israeli emergency relief organization, declared the Nazis to be benevolent. I think we all know how that turned out.
To these millions of victims, you trot out a few disgruntled individuals who did not wield any power and who you presume to be right wing. What a fraud you are.
Now fast forward to the recent US administration. Not even in office half a year, he has declared war on capitalism and Christianity by nearly his every action. The complete sell-out of Israel is right around the corner. Obama, while labeling America arrogant in Europe, put the SEC and several other agencies under European control. He effectively spat in the face of the English monarchy while bowing to Arabian tribalists. Obama extorted healthy banks who REFUSED Tarp money by lying through his teeth: "If we don't give money to all banks, depositors will pull their money from Tarp recipients." The minute they took the money, the Marxist filth control began over wages and bonuses. But when the Marxist filth in the White House told the Tarp banks they'd have to accept a gov't appointee on their boards, they said, "Here's your Tarp money back..." No way, said the Marxist filth. "I own your ass now" was basically the reply from the White House.
While lecturing Christians on how they should interpret the bible he despises, having marinated in racist hatred in a "church" for over 20 years, he now appoints a hate monger gay activist to the Faith Based Initiative who is on record referring to the Catholic Church as a "discredited army of oppressors." (I would point to the accomplishments of gays in various empires throughout history, but there aren't any.)
If you think Americans are going to sit still for this fascistic governance, think again.
If you think the Marxist filth in the White House should have a free hand to do as he will while the American people are obliged to simply roll over and play dead, you can go to hell. Don't you dare support a human being such as Obama then tell us we are obliged to silence and inaction. Violence? The American people won't start it, but we'll damn sure finish it.

Absolutely they are inciting violence. Bachmann is one of the ring leaders, advising republicans to take up arms and storm DC. Then of course there's Rush, O'Reilly, and a host of others who can't get over the fact that they lost the election, soliciting prayer that Obama will fail in his quest to save the country. If a Liberal had said the things these people have said, cons would be up in arms and we would have been war with eachother by now.

The far right wing is an angry lot, one a clone of the other. They may well be inciting violence, but I don't see it as a threat. If I'm wrong, I hope they don't believe their own propaganda that liberals are 'bleeding heart wusses.' On the other hand, sometimes a confrontation is what it takes to clear the air.

Shouting fire in a crowded theater is really no different than Bachman calling for armed revolution; it will result in maniacs taking out their guns and believing it is their divine right to defend themselves from their imagined enemies.

It seems pretty clear that the nutjob in PA, who shot and killed 3 cops, was incited to his violent actions over fear of having his guns taken away. Sort of gives credience to the comments about certain folks clinging to their guns.

All I hear is hate, bigotry and fear mongering from the right. It is like what Keith Olbermann said last night about a right wing broadcaster fear mongering taking responsibility for the violence in this country. hate begets hate and the talk just adds fuel to the fire.
Any one talking about overthrow of the Obama administration is a "TRAITOR" and needs to be arrested and charged with TREASON. IMHO

the Foxnews/rush/coulter crowd keeps using words like tyranny, socialist, etc. to express their unhappiness to the fact that nothing is going thier way.

but to paraphrase Jon Stewart, it seems the far right has simply mistaken losing for tyranny.
thats all thats happening here. you lost. and now the guy who won is putting his ideas into play, which is exactly why we elected him.
and, like Stewart said, its supposed to taste like a sh*t taco, rightys.

I agree with Jefferson, however, the key word is TYRANT. Losing a free and fair election hardly qualifies as living under a tyrant, instead it's called living under a representative democracy, we all have had to live under politicans we personally didn't care for. Try winning the next election before you start killing folks.

first lets put Jefferson's quote in context.
Reply
he wrote that while he was working for the US govt at the time, as ambassador to France. he wrote it while in France, just as the French Revolution was about to start.
so, his quote was actually more about France (who was under the rule of a tyrant) than the US, since he was happily working for the US govt at the time and was lining himself up for 20 more years of govt service and eventually the presidency.
second, as was pointed out, this idea only applies when a tyrant is present.
there is no tyrant present today. Obama won democratically. fair and square. and he still has the approval of 2 out of every 3 Americans. which means he's anything but a tyrant.
so, while Jefferson's quote is great and all that, it simply does not apply to our current situation.
end of story. -

Do you think he would have approved of the actions of the gunman in Pittburgh last weekend? Hardly! He did advocate the will of the people as occurred in November '08 and in 1776. This quote was taken from a private letter from 1787 and actually referred to the British. He is justifying the American Revolution. Not the overthrow of a legitimately elected government. He also advocates such a rebellion every 20 years ("God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion"). Do you think that makes sense in todays world? This quote is taken completely out of context. I was stunned at the number of times the Right has used this recently when I Googled this quote. Makes the headline here all the more a valid question.
Reply
Here is the complete letter. Make sure you read the entire thing:
http://everything2.com/title/Tree%2520of%2520Liber...
Obama is hardly a tyrant. If he suspends free elections I will side with you loons. It ain't happening! GW Bush wasn't a tyrant either although I certainly disagreed with many of his positions. I don't recall anybody suggesting that Bush be assassinated. (and I can show such language re: Obama from the Right). With Bush gone that would have left us with Cheney! LOL!
We will remind the voters of such quotes as this in '10 and '12:
"Obama is a radical communist and I think it is becoming clear. That is what I told people in Illinois and now everybody realizes it is coming true. He is going to destroy this country and we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist."
-- Alan Keyes
How many Americans do you really think are behind Alan Keyes thinking here? He neglects he got trounced in the election he refers to. He got 27% of the vote. He was a desperation candidate to replace Jack Ryan.
You can make your case in '10 and '12. We will be there to remind Americans who took us to the position we are in today. Some have rather short memories. This kind of rhetoric will not help you! -

What we see in Government, is two political parties splitting the whole Nation untill you would wonder what politically oriented could possibly mean. This is done by advertizement getting the benefit of tax, politicians running mud campaigns for office, fund raisers for the Democratic, etc. The problem is more...the foundation from which the Congress surely voted, or did not make provisions for...puts them in a place unfounded...by written laws or recognized Universal laws.
Reply
The right and the left may be like football to some...but they both, not just one...together form a Cabal. The Cabal engages in the hiring of the lawenforcement plus legislating what is later executed judicially. This means that there is truth, that they do establish an air of one that wants rebellion. Not upon themselves, but in the confusion between us.
The word between is used to identify a contract involving money between two...and the two may be two or the whole...infinitely. The Cabal is still in Washington, and in groups liken the KKK...so beware...and do not get lost...in a direction...be one statured...clearly in the middle...and you won't be an extremist at all. -

Yea, a bunch of fat potbellied old white guys are going to lead a full revolution against the DNC. I can just see it. Rush stands up and drops dead of a heart attack... This is such a stupid non-story.
Reply
I do have a simple question, why the double standards? The DNC has been charged and convicted in Wisconsin with inciting riots, attacking GOP local head quarters and slashing tires of GOP get out the vote vehicles. Okay, it wasn't the DNC but their members. The son of Congresswoman Gwen Moore served jail time. So acts of violence isn't new, at least for members of the DNC. Perhaps that's why they want to have convicts vote.
But again, please explain the double standard. The DNC physically attacks conservatives and it doesn't make it to the news yet a rumor started by DNC front groups and it's front page on Propeller. Please explain your logic so we can follow this line of thinking.

I'm not too sure if there inciting Violence or not, But I can be sure of one thing, the right definitely incites fear. Fear such as "terrorists are your neighbors," Saddam has WMD. Fight 'em over there or fight em over here. Lies and garbage to further their fascist agenda.
Reply
Look at the fearmongering they are pulling right now. They have incited such a fear that guns are going to be taken away that Gun shops are running out of Ammo. Problem is that the Dems have all but said they aren't going to change gun control. The right will believe anything their heroes tell them, no matter how untrue or absurd it is. -

Yea that's right!!! We forced them to get convicted of slashing the tires of our GOP vehicles. We forced them to vote twice and then brag about it on national TV. We forced the fat woman from New York to come to Milwaukee and buy the votes of the homeless with packs of smokes. Oh, did I mention she did it in front of the Channel 12 news offices? Yea, the GOP is totally at fault here.... Violence and the DNC go hand in hand.

Apparently there are irreconcilable differences between republicans and democrats (duh). Even the moderates have become more polarized lines have been drawn in the sand over political philosophies. Claiming to be in the middle does not make one immune to this polarization as a you're with us or you're against mentality oozes richly from both sides. This has truly become a battle for the future direction of America. I have sided with the progressives and against the archaic, shoot first and ask questions later mentality of the right. Sanity must prevail and the right is showing very little of that.

If you are referring to Iraq we asked questions for ten years. Upon leaving office BIll Clinton told Bush that he needed to deal with Saddam. In the past I have posted video evidence of Bill, Hillary and multiple staffers from his administration that back this up. People like to say that Bush was avenging his daddy's failures by invading Iraq. When it was more like he was making up for the last Presidents lack of action.

I've listened to and read much about the rights phobia with Obama. I have heard a lot of intimation towards forceful opposition of the current administration up to and including civil disobedience. The cheap rhetoric by the likes of Hannity and Beck et al are certainly being used to incite the faithful. I haven't actually heard any of them call for armed rebellion but the hint is there. I don't think that even if they were able to incite armed rebellion that there would be enough support to achieve more than a remake of the OK corral.

A man named Jim Adkisson walked into a Tennessee church and killed two churchgoers. Adkisson was motivated to attack what he called the "liberal movement." Adkisson was the reader of books by many right wing authors.
Reply
November 2007, a man walked into the Clinton Campaign office in New Hampshire and demanded to speak to Senator Clinton about her mental health plan. A six hour hostage scenario ensued with no injuries.
A 51 year old man walked into Arkansas Democratic headquarters and shot and killed the state chairman, Bill Gwatney.
These are just a few instances of politically motivated violence.
What's going on here? Well, what we are seeing is a growing trend of violence against, Democrats, or as conservatives like to call them, "Liberals." Our airwaves are being filled with vicious and violent language towards the democrats by right wing commentators, and our media is doing nothing about it. No mention of Jim Adkisson's book collection. No mention of Michael Reagan telling his audience to kill a protester. No mention of the daily hostile rants conducted by right wing commentators. -

What I have read here is a majority of left-wing liberals inciting violence. You are causing anger and hatred toward one another, further dichotomizing this country into "them" and "us", and using the blame game to suit your position. Freedom to bear arms is an issue only because it gives you liberals another blame point. What a sad game for rational adults to engage in.

"I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us, having a revolution every now and then is a good thing, and the people — we the people — are going to have to fight back hard if we’re not going to lose our country. And I think this has the potential of changing the dynamic of freedom forever in the United States."
Reply
I don't have a problem with the beginning of the comment. She's clearly referring to being "armed and dangerous" with knowledge, not guns. I think the second portion though about the revolution is a bit trickier. From the way it sounds it certainly does sound bad as if she is calling for a literal revolution. But I think in the context of the discussion it is very possible she was speaking about a revolution brought on with the minds rather than the guns.
Either way I think there is room to debate the true meaning of the quote. But one point I'd like to make, there are many people misquoting her throughout this thread that were up in arms when Obama or another Dem was being misquoted, talking about how its the only weapon the right wing has and its just hate and lies. Yet they turn around and do it here. I just thought it was such an obvious example of hypocrisy. And at the same time I see people who have misquoted Dems trying to defend her by saying she was "misquoted", another blatant example of hypocrisy.

Hey, Obamalama has followers, they are willing to strap the C4 (explosives) to their bodies just to get their pointed heads across. Muslims have contributed so much to his country, unfortunately his country is Kenya, not America. Maybe his next appointment to the Treasury will be the, he calls himself a Reverrunt, Williams. Probably he won't make it though simply because he might not have paid his taxes. Thus leaving the Gueitner to roller skate in the Treasury all by himself while he keeps looking for places to stash tax payer money for BHO and him just before the rest of the citizens tar and feather them and kick them out of office.
