Life After Castro's Revolution: A Look At The Inside of Cuba »

Don't get me wrong here..... I think better relations with Cuba should be welcomed by both sides. We can both better ourselves by being good neighbors but let us not take this approach: "Cuba has relations with every country in the Western Hemisphere, 15 countries," she told us, excluding America. "America is the country that's isolated, not Cuba." -- Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calf.

The Cuban press was having a lot of fun at capitalism's expense. The lead
story in the eight-page Granma - named after the yacht that brought the
young Fidel back to Cuba to begin his revolution in 1956 - usually concerns
the anniversary of an historic action on the part of the Castros, Che
Guevara or even more antique heroes. But the second story, on this occasion,
encompassed a piece of credit crunch schadenfreude: the number of suicides
in the US was growing, according to the Samaritans; in Italy there were 16
million people living in poverty; and so on.

Cuba is not a picture of what America wants to be at anytime. Barbara Lee, a leading liberal, has her own thoughts. Not those of the rest of 'us'. Some 'people' want to be led........ Not here.

    FREEDOM!!

"Lee's delegation is sympathetic to Cuba, with most of its members openly praising the country's communist government while decrying U.S. policy."

Castro's government have long argued that while Cuban officials publicly call for an end to the trade embargo, they strive to antagonize Washington so it will keep the sanctions in place. The critics say Cuban leaders want to be able to blame the country's problems, from restricted public Internet access to chronic food shortages, on trade sanctions.

Communist, socialist....... maybe we can learn from them? BUT PLEASE, NO APOLOGIES for the life they choose to live.

The have been waxing poetic about the Castros all day on MSNBC.....I guess they have forgotten that he is a dictator, been in power for over 40 years, kept that power by threats, intimidation and assassination. They should ligr the trade embargo if for no other reason to bring down the price of Cohibas.

A GOOD WOMAN IS A WOMAN BUT A GOOD CIGAR IS A SMOKE.......

Cuba, Hum ? so many have fled that country because of unbearable cruelty. To leave your homeland under these conditions and then have a lib take the side of dictators that rob and rape a great country is a disgrace.

Who's taking the side of the dictators? The parts of the article that I read basically laid out the horrible conditions in the country.

Think of the hearts and minds of the people that we could win if we started to lift the trade embargo. Instead of having Cuba siding with Venezuela against us, maybe they could be siding with us. Keeping them down does nothing more than keep them against us.

With all the problems and hardships in Cuba they still have one of the best health care systems in the world. Everyone from Castro to the most pitiful beggar in the street has access to it for free.
