ACORN and other Left-Wing Groups to Disrupt Tea Parties »
Posted By RedRiverJ 7 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsAlthough this is what has come to be expected from the anti-first amendment Left, on 7 April Fox News’ Neil Cavuto reported that Barack Obama’s group ACORN, members and readers of the far Left blog “Huffington Post” and other left-wing groups plan to infiltrate and cause chaos at scheduled tax day citizen tea parties. The tea parties—based upon the original Boston Tea Party’s taxation without representation—have barely been mentioned by the apparent Obama Administration-controlled leftist press.
Note: Any honest reporting of anti-Obama programs is considered to be taboo by the mainstream media.

“The Huffington Post wants to have citizen journalists at as many of these events as possible,” Arthur Delaney wrote for The Huffington Post on April 7. “If you think you'd be interested in attending one of the Tea Parties and reporting back to us with dispatches, photos, or video, click here to sign up. We'll contact you shortly with further instructions.”
If you sign-up, you receive an automated message from Matthew Palevsky, the Huffington Post’s associate editor of citizen journalism.
“Thanks for becoming a Tea Party Reporter,” the e-mail from Palevsky says. “This e-mail is just a quick confirmation that we have received your contact info and will email you our plans during the coming week. In the meantime, we'd love to hear your thoughts. Whether they be questions, suggestions or story ideas, share them with us at submissions+ideas@ huffingtonpost.com.” -

Right-Wing 'Tea Party' Movement Was Planned Months Ago by GOP Billionaires
The latest so-called "populist" revolt against the federal government was a pre-planned PR stunt.... Populist revolt against the U.S. government is all the rage in the Republican Party, these days. As they tell the story, the public is so outraged by the recovery and reinvestment efforts of the Obama administration that Americans everywhere are turning out to overthrow the tyrannical king of the federal government by re-enacting the Boston Tea Party.
Funny thing, though: it turns out this whole "populist" movement was a planned PR stunt funded by big-money right-wing backers of the GOP who specialize in faking grassroots movements to drum up opposition to Barack Obama.
... What hasn’t been reported until now is evidence linking Santelli’s “tea party” rant with some very familiar names in the Republican rightwing machine, from PR operatives who specialize in imitation-grassroots PR campaigns (called “astroturfing”) to bigwig politicians and notorious billionaire funders. As veteran Russia reporters, both of us spent years watching the Kremlin use fake grassroots movements to influence and control the political landscape. To us, the uncanny speed and direction the movement took and the players involved in promoting it had a strangely forced quality to it. If it seemed scripted, that's because it was.
What we discovered is that Santelli’s “rant” was not at all spontaneous as his alleged fans claim, but rather it was a carefully-planned trigger for the anti-Obama campaign. In PR terms, his February 19th call for a “Chicago Tea Party” was the launch event of a carefully organized and sophisticated PR campaign, one in which Santelli served as a frontman, using the CNBC airwaves for publicity, for the some of the craziest and sleaziest rightwing oligarch clans this country has ever produced. Namely, the Koch family, the multibilllionaire owners of the largest private corporation in America, and funders of scores of rightwing thinktanks and advocacy groups, from the Cato Institute and Reason Magazine to FreedomWorks. The scion of the Koch family, Fred Koch, was a co-founder of the notorious extremist-rightwing John Birch Society. -

"ACORN registers lots of lower income and/or minority voters. They operate all across the country and do a lot of things beside voter registration. What's key to understand is their method. By and large they do not rely on volunteers to register voters. They hire people -- often people with low incomes or even the unemployed. This has the dual effect of not only registering people but also providing some work and income for people who are out of work. But because a lot of these people are doing it for the money, inevitably, a few of them cut corners or even cheat. So someone will end up filling out cards for nonexistent names and some of those slip through ACORN's own efforts to catch errors. (It's important to note that in many of the recent ACORN cases that have gotten the most attention it's ACORN itself that has turned the people in who did the fake registrations.) These reports start buzzing through the right-wing media every two years and every time the anecdotal reports of 'thousands' of fraudulent registrations turns out, on closer inspection, to be either totally bogus themselves or wildly exaggerated. So thousands of phony registrations ends up being, like, twelve."

"Yesterday Media Matter for America released a well-researched report showing that conservatives have repeatedly resorted to blaming ACORN in place of substantive discussions of causes and solutions, even where the organization has little or nothing to do with the issue.
Reply
For us at ACORN, the findings in this report come as no surprise. Since the 2008 election, when ACORN became the focus of a coordinated series of attacks from partisan operatives seeking to derail then-candidate Obama's presidential campaign, we've become something of a beast of mythic proportions, casting magic spells, mesmerizing elected officials and the
traditional media, all the while destroying the fabric of democracy one strand at a time.
from: Lies and the Lying Liars Exposed
http://www.mydd.com/story/2009/4/9/154652/6748
Specifically we've been accused of everything from causing the global financial meltdown to getting billions in Federal payouts to voter fraud to manipulation of the US Census. As I said back in January, this is all just a big bag of overheated partisan fever dreams. Media Matters took the time to cut through the right-wing bamboozlement chorus with some cold hard facts. Here are a couple of examples from the report."

"Sixty-seven percent of the American people approve of how President Obama's handling his efforts to pass an economic stimulus bill, as opposed to 48% for Democrats in Congress and 31% for congressional Republicans.

And the public continues to view the package as a matter of paramount concern. 51% of those polled consider the plan's passage to be "critically important," with "Only 16% say it is 'not that important."

Well, since we have been forewarned it's up to us to make sure this doesn't happen. If you're at one of the demonstrations and see trouble starting try to isolate the trouble makers and don't, please don't retaliate. If you can ignore them that will be the lowest blow if no one pays them any attention. Good luck out there and be careful. I guess I'm lucky because I don't think any of the Obummer bots will show up where I'm going to be. Oh heck, I'll tell them anyway, come on down to Mtn. Home, Arkansas Obummer bots and see what kind of trouble you can get into there. lmao.

No one here has suggested attacking anyone. If attacked in a riot type attack, I'm sure we will defend ourselves but you will not find any of us drawing first blood.
Reply
It's very typical of fascist supporters making accusations like this. The Nazis tried to claim Poland attacked them in 1939. Hitler claimed the Jews were the cause of all their problems. In this case I've heard rumblings that the GOP will riot and through the President out of office. You're totally wrong. We're the party of law and order. Our party didn't sponsor cross burnings, that was the southern DNC. Our party didn't lynch people, again the southern DNC.

The only violence I've been able to find concerning actions of political parties was done exclusively by Democrats against Republicans. Everything from stealing sighs to slashing tires to attacking campaign head quarters, it's been only left wing front groups with DNC support. In this case if Acorn crashes Tea Parties, it's going to go badly for everyone. I'm positive the conservatives will not be armed nor draw first blood. BTW I'll be at the Tea Party in Madison so this should be interesting.

"But, of course, silly little inconvenient things like facts have never really stopped our right-wing friends from indulging in their creative writing exercises. The latest bit of nonsense comes from the wingnutosphere, where we are supposed to be gearing up to infiltrate and disrupt something called "tea parties". Adam Serwer over at the American Prospect's TAPPED blog has a quick run-down."
Reply
"So I was interested in finding out where the rumor started. It turns out, it started on somewhere on the Internet. I don't mean that someone reported ACORN activists showing up at a tea party and wrote about it on their blog, or that some local newspaper published a story to that effect, I literally mean it started on the Internet. Michelle Malkin linked to this post on a conservative blog, which linked to this post on an online tea party Internet forum. Meanwhile, Malkin has been twittering about this for days, hyping the ACORN/Kos/Obama conspiracy axis. All because someone wrote something on the Internet. I believe this policy can be explained as "trust, but don't verify."

"Summary: Despite its repeated insistence that its coverage is "fair and balanced" and its invitation to viewers to "say 'no' to biased media," Fox News has frequently aired segments encouraging viewers to get involved with "tea party" protests across the country, which the channel has described as primarily a response to President Obama's fiscal policies. Media Matters has compiled an analysis of Fox News' promotion of these events."

I don't doubt at all that the left would absolutely revel if there was actually a confrontation. They have threads all over propeller that the right is going to get violent and try to overthrow "Obama's" government or worse michief.
Reply
The fact that a group such as ACORN, supported by taxpayer money, would stoop so low as to attempt to disrupt a peaceful protest, obstructing U.S. citizens from their constitutional right to free speech and peaceful assembly, using intimidation tactics for political purpose is reprehensible and deserves prosecution. How anyone can look upon this organization with anything but contempt and ridicule is beyond me.....yet they are the left's ideal of "community organizing".

Up until now, tea parties have drifted under the radar both of the left as well as their media allies. That isn't the case now going forward. A widespread grass root movement against the current economic policies of the government is the left's worse nighmare.
Reply
The tea parties to date have been very orderly despite some of them having thousands of participants. Don't be surprised, along with their "reporters" that the left doesn't put in their plants acting as right wing extremists to try to discredit the tea party movement. Dan Rather is gone, but "fake but accurate" still lives.

We've had several warnings here in Milwaukee advising against sending any more tea to the elected officials. I guess it sets off the mail sensors and then delays all of the postal services. While it's kind of funny on the surface, you and I are paying for the overtime this causes. So don't waste the time or money sending tea to the White House.

Again, why bother. Haven't you realized the leaders in Washington do not care what you do. They're on a mission to install as many ultra left wing projects as possible. They don't care who or how they will be paid for, it's all a game of politics for them. I expect the 2010 election to be devastating to the DNC and in 2012, Obama will find himself unemployed.

Oh sure we get a bunch of illegal aliens protesting and they don't feel the need to arrest any of the illegals. Now you have a conservative movement protesting some the worst budget moves our government has ever done before and they're worried about pollution? I think the problem here is simple. The DNC is great at the protests and other hippy garbage but now that they're in charge they're clueless. I've never seen a group of people so good at name calling with such thin skins.
