I hate to hear this about our soldiers, nobody knows whats really going on in their minds. Sometimes we think we might know but unless we have been there we can not figure it out.

The US Government juggles the books on everything else...wonder if the figures are higher. After all, they put these men among us, as policemen...and pay them $100,000 dollars down...they did this after passing legislation to account for the low numbers of active duty personnel in the armed forces. Seems that the men they wanted in the armed forces had to have a special quality...the attraction to money. Think about that one...when the US faces the truth about moneys use.

Most have no idea what is going on in the minds of men and women put into combat. The unfortunate truth is that most vets when they return don't either.
One tour of combat is bad.Two is worse and some of these people are looking at their fourth and fifth. That is unconscionable.
We have allowed these brave men and women to go through this with no end in sight because we refuse to increase the size of our military, either by better recruitment of by a draft. Then we underfund and under staff our VA hospitals !!
It will take many years for some of these people to become "normal",some never will, but most will not recognize that there is something wrong and will not seek treatment, and for many they will be just another statistic of a failed system..and the paradox is that some will not be affected at all or for only a short time and life will be just fine.
I have fought for years to make people realize that when they are waving flags and shouting "support our troops",that support that should not end when they come home..that is when it should really begin.

I wonder if illegally occupying a country that had never attacked America, terrorizing and sometimes killing the citizens of that country, all for the corporate greed of our rulling elite , would make our soldiers feel badly about themselves.

I've lost two Uncles in the last two years because of their demons inside from the Vietnam war. They drank themselves to death. Even after getting help for the drinking the demons seemed to always creep back in and they had to get away from them and that was by drinking all these years. They were not the same nice young men when they got back. I miss those two.

I feel for the young men and women who are now having to deal with their own demons now after fighting in the wars that are on going. May they not end up like my two Uncles.

This is very old news. Soldiers coming back from every war have had these problems. They have called it different names over the years but the problem is the same. These men experience things that only someone who has been there can understand.
