if you add up the federal income tax, the state taxes and the sales tax, then it is very clear that we are just free-range chickens producing for our masters. over half of your total productivity on the year goes directly to government tyranny.

in the early 1900's they didn't even have a federal income tax. It was sold to the people as a temporary tax to help pay the costs of the war. But, as Milton Friedman pointed out, "nothing is more permanent then a temporary government program."
read: now we work 3 or 4 months out of the year just feeding the federal income tax alone. 100 years ago, those 3 or 4 months were yours to keep. see how far we've come? some of us are even so daring as to suggest that it's a necessary evil. how brainwashed are we?-

We don't live in a 90% Agrarian economy anymore. We also had American industry, which we must bring back. We didn't have the most of the available money in a couple of percent of the people. To balance this the income tax is the only tax which is progressive. If you're rich and super rich you will not like my post. If you are struggling, as most Americans are today, you'll understand this. Redoing the structure may help. social Security and other programs would be properly funded if those who can afford it like the Forbes 400 and their ilk shared a much greater burden. I'm sure Bill Gates could survive on 5 billion.

If you have no income tax, how are you going to pay for:
Reply
Roads, incl interstates
Schools, incl universities
Research, pure science (needed for the advancement of knowledge and technic), medical science, etc ......
Help for the needed.
Help during cathastrophes
Police (to, e.g. protect private proprety)
Justice (unless you want the "Wild West Justice")
Organisation of the city, state, country
Maintenance of infrastructure
Garbage collecting and keeping everything clean
etc.....
No tax usd to be possible in the "old days" the days of "the founding fathers".
However, society has become so complex, and so populated, that this is not possible any more......-

Roads are paid by gas taxes. Schools are paid by real-estate tax. Research is almost always privately funded. Help for the needy is always state-driven. Garbage is local sales tax. Police, Firefighters, Maintenance and infrastructure is also sales and state tax.

Reagan set up a Grace Commission in the 80's and discovered that not a dime of your federal tax dollars goes towards *anything* that you would have thought. Every penny is absorbed into the interest of the national debt, alone.
Google grace commission, taxes.

The 16th amendment...part of the problem.
Reply
This Amendment allows the Congress to levy an income tax without apportioning it among the States or basing it on Census(ref:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteenth_...
when you look to the amendments established just prior, you'll understand. Taxing is about slavery, and the US could have not done it without money. -
