No, this is the kind of thing that happens when people see where the federal government is going, and they realize that they didn't have these protections in their state constitutions from inception, like states such as Massachusetts have.

NO!!! It is because of the fake stimulus package that Obama pushed. There are a whole lot of strings attached to the money and rules trying to be pushed on the area of states rights. If not enumerated in the constitution then it is a state right to make any law they wish to make. The Federal Government has no jurisdiction then. Liberals hate this concept so there is always the fight. Obama and the Democrats in the fake stimulus package went overboard. This is the result. Several states have done this and more are to come.

It means that state militias can hold off intrusions of the US government not guaranteed by the US Constitution.
So some misdirected plan by some power hungry freak in Washington, like a Cheney, can be challenged by the state.
