This week the President discusses the multitude of problems and opportunities before the world through the prism of Passover and Easter: "These are two very different holidays with their own very different traditions. But it seems fitting that we mark them both during the same week. For in a larger sense, they are both moments of reflection and renewal. They are both occasions to think more deeply about the obligations we have to ourselves and the obligations we have to one another, no matter who we are, where we come from, or what faith we practice.

Reading these remarks, I think I've some additional insight into the motivations of Modern American Right Wingers.

Here, let me isolate a portion of the remarks....

It's no wonder talk like this pushes The Modern Right in America into fits of apoplexy.
Look at the words being used here ...
❝Larger sense❞ ...
The Modern Republican doesn't respond to ANYTHING resembling a "Larger Sense". They ONLY relate to simple minded, narrow minded assessments and considerations.
❝Reflection❞ ...
The Modern Republican doesn't do "Reflection" ... They are more prone to regurgitating whatever their Messiah ... Rush Limbaugh feeds them. ... Or the dozens upon dozens of other Rabidly Right Wing radio stations ... or Mainstream Media for that matter.
❝Renewal❞ ...
The Modern Republican is NOT about Renewal. The Modern Republican is all about returning America to 1950's USA ... and especially ... the Joseph McCarthy era ... their favorite.
❝Obligations❞ ...
Modern Republicans don't believe in Obligation. They only believe in TAKING. They want the most EXPENSIVE military ... the bests roads ... better mail system ... better government ... better everything ... they simply don't want to PAY for it. This is basic laggard behavior.
❝What faith we practice❞ ...
Modern Republicans bristle at this kind of talk ... they prefer the Bushco era with it's Christian Evangelical Centered emphasis.
I see more clearly now why the Modern Right is enraged at our President Obama - with every speech expressing inclusion, ethics, personal responsibility, and acceptance ... these Modern Right Wingers become more and more enraged.
And just think ... these are the same people who groused that all he could do is give a good speech.
Looks like his speeches are what anger these misanthropes more than anything!
