Posted By capj71 8 months, 3 weeks ago in Political NewsNew York Times columnist Paul Krugman called out congressional Republicans today for the hypocrisy of being against economic stimulus spending because it doesn’t create jobs, while opposing defense cuts because they will cost jobs. The question is how can one form of government spending not create jobs while another does?

Their is plenty of hypocrisy to go around. Seems like the only party that cares about fiscal responsibility is the one that out of power. And no, I'm not joining the "dark side". I'm just a concerned over all the spending going on.

Being concerned about spending has nothing to do with partisan politics. You are right in that it is easy to finger point when out of power. It is usually the path to returning to power. As seemingly with all politicians, as soon as they get into power it is as if they become children in the candy store. They all enjoy the pork system and can't wait until it is their time to push the wheelbarrow.

Who would of thought that Clinton was the fiscally prudent president? Some credit must go to Bush #1for bravely pushing a necessary tax hike in the early 90's. Cost him the election which Clinton then took advantage of in the mid 90's. -

Given that in the U.S.A., war and preparation for war consumes well over 1/2 of the income tax dollars, it is not mathematically possible to balance the budget without reappraising the military budget. YET, the republicans insist on increased military spending, reduced taxes, AND a balanced budget.

how many jobs will be created this year be the "stimulus plan"....very few. HOW MANY LIVES could be lost because we ONLY BUILD 287 RAPTORS WHILE THE CHINESE BUY 2000 RUSSIAN SUKUOF 10'S? the russian plane is the very latest air superiority fighter there is, not counting the raptor...SO THE ANSWER MAY BE -COUNTLESS. has gates got his head up obama's B** or has he just he just forgot which country he is supposed to be protecting??????????
