Posted By Shixa_Reborn 8 months ago in ReligionAs a Creation Scientist, one of my greatest duties that I take great pleasure in is introducing the works of the Lord to the young generation. The sparkle of wonderment that fills their eyes in knowing the creative power of God fills my heart with the Lord's divine Love. It however saddens me greatly that the proponents of Evolutionism have corrupted this true purpose of science and are instead using it as a propaganda tool to spread Secularism. But what is education for if not to fight against ignorance such as that? Our children are the future face of Science and we must teach them to recognize the truth of the Word of the Lord so as to break the cycle of Evolutionism dogma that is paralyzing scientific development and making higher education a dumping ground for the excesses of materialistic philosophies.

What facts do the evolutionists have to prove the idea of evolution? First they demand that there is no God. Then they have absolutely unprovable concept that could be only have evidence in the fossil record. Very slow gradual change from one species to another. The fact that Darwin wrote that if the fossil record did not bear out his theory then it would be wrong. Well guess what. The fossil record has absolutely no record of that. So they keep coming up with excuses for not finding it yet. These excuses get flimsier and flimsier.
Reply
The more we learn about microbiology and DNA and how it works the more impossible that that slow gradual change could happen becomes. Again the flimsy excuses for this. They see patterns in different levels of nature from the parts of animals and plants and claim that is proof. The problem is that it could just as easily be used by creationists to explain a master plan of the creator.
The basic problem is when a possibility is not allowed to be explored the result is flawed science.-

"What facts do the evolutionists have to prove the idea of evolution?"
Reply
If you're asking that question in all seriousness, then its obvious that theres no point in showing the facts to you because you're just going to dismiss them as nonsense, but I'll try anyway.
"First they demand that there is no God."
Really? Want to show me where evolution states there is no God? Just because evolution conflicts with the idea that the earth is a couple thousand years old and that Noah put a bunch of animals on his ark, doesn't mean it conflicts with the possibility of there being a God.
"The fossil record has absolutely no record of that. "
No record of gradual change? Just because you choose to ignore it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The fossil record is absolutely evidence of evolution. Carbon dating proves the earth is much older than creationists believe. Ancestral traits as well as vestigial structures link us together with animals that have long been extinct.
"The more we learn about microbiology and DNA and how it works the more impossible that that slow gradual change could happen becomes."
Why? What revelations in the field of microbiology have done this? If anything the discovery of things such as Hox genes, mapping out the genomes, the inner workings of cells, DNA, mutations, genetic drift, etc. all support the idea of evolution. So please show us how microbiology disproves evolution.
"The basic problem is when a possibility is not allowed to be explored the result is flawed science."
How are you supposed to explore creationism without any physical evidence aside from the bible? If there were some things that could be tested for creationism I'm sure it would be. The problem is there isn't. For evolution there is a plethora of physical things we can study from fossils to organisms living today which allows science to explore its possibility. If God wants us to start studying creationism, he will give us some physical evidence to explore.

I know that in astronomy, skientists are always talkin bout how this light took 20 billion years to get to earth ... ... ... while everbody done know that the earth is only 6,000 years old.
So I dont know the answer to this question.
But then, as Christian Conservatives, it aint our job to think long bout such issues.
All I know is that my preacher tells me we Christian Conservatives are Rock Stars for God and we are trashin this planet as a part of our ding dang celebration.

Sure they do, it's just that evolution has the spotlight of the moment. Don't forget astronmers in the past have faced death for daring to point out our solar system was heliocentric and the sun and planets didn't revolve around the Earth.
Reply
Show me a geology article that talks about the Earth's age as being in the billions and you will likely find a 'young Earther' there to remind us the Earth is only 6,000 years old and didn't you know that they carbon dated a living seal and found it to be over 50,000 years old?
Generally speaking, religion always attacks science until it decides to attribute the science to it's god(s). There is no need for new information or answers when you already claim to know it all, as religion does. In fact new information can be dangerous, just ask Galileo.-

Do you really believe this? Every scientific discovery has been made by a non believer? Believers care nothing about science and the advancement of our society through its findings? Seriously, I think it is about time some people get out from behind their computers and learn about true followers of Christ instead of spewing forth all this bigotry and hatred. These attitudes on both sides continues to allow our country to be run by thieves and bandits, hand in hand across the aisle, and keep us fighting over non issues. I could care less how long the earth has been here, more worried about how long it will last. I do believe in a creator, and have a degree from a secular university, and have never once had a problem reconciling these two. I am not sure if I came from a monkey or not, and really could care less. However, if the relation between the two can somehow save the life of a human, use all the science you can to learn how to save, heal, better our society. That is the true voice of the Christian... not the bile that seems to just fall out of certain peoples mouths.

smith-Yes.
LP-Every scientific discovery has been made by a non believer?
Smith-I said no such thing.
Lp- Seriously, I think it is about time some people get out from behind their computers and learn about true followers of Christ instead of spewing forth all this bigotry and hatred.
Smith-TRUE followers? Well, I am certain that includes yourself, but who are the FALSE followers you refer? Catholics? Mormons? Jehovah's Witnesses? Snake Handlers? David Koreshians? Baptists? Unitarians?
LP-These attitudes on both sides continues to allow our country to be run by thieves and bandits, hand in hand across the aisle, and keep us fighting over non issues. Smith: Both sides? There's many more than two sides and just because you claim not to actively seek to censor science, surely you are aware of religious elements that do, whether or not you deem them to be true or false followers.
Lp-By the way, I would ask Galileo, you got his phone number???
smith-It's too late to ask Galileo personally, I am afraid, he died unforgiven, under house arrest. 1990, nearly 400 years after Galileo's death, Pope John Paul 2, forgave him and decided the Earth really does move around the sun.-

Well, if we are not going to put words into mouths, I never said that mormons, catholics, jehovah's witnesses, or any of the like were false followers of Christ. I truly believe that the religion has very little to do with it, but more of the individual and their personal belief. I try not to judge a person's salvation. However, it is rather easy to see when someone, such as Bush, perhaps, preaches the Christian way, yet never practices it.
Reply
The true followers of Christ, in my opinion, would advance scientific thought and discovery, bringing glory to God.
You are right, there are more than two sides, and while there are factions of religion that would seek to suppress science and logic, however, those are not the mainstream. I have been a member of many churches in my years, and never once have I heard a preacher downplay the importance of science or medicine. You said, "Generally speaking, religion always attacks science until it decides to attribute the science to it's god(s). There is no need for new information or answers when you already claim to know it all, as religion does." I am sorry, that is just not true. It may happen some, but it is not generally speaking. Your point of Galileo... 400 years ago, kinda proves my point on this.

Don't know, but it makes you wonder how Heisenberg came to his conclusions that form his priciple of uncertainty doesn't it? I mean if physics uses the same Naturalism how did he come up with a concept, a priciple that could easily explain how a miracle could happen?

"I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it". (Albert Einstein, 1954)-

Einstein: His Life and Universe, written by Walter Isaacson, records not only the science behind the genius, but also the humanistic aspects of him, including a deep belief in God. An excerpt from his book was recently published in a Time magazine article titled "Einstein & Faith," which specifically looked at the famed scientist's theory on a higher being.
Reply
"But the awe part comes in his 50s when he settled into a deism based on what he called the 'spirit manifest in the laws of the universe,'" wrote Isaacson in the book, "and a sincere belief in a 'God who reveals Himself in the harmony of all that exists.'"
Through his discoveries in physics and other sciences, Einstein felt that there was undoubtedly a force behind all existence that created all the laws that the world abides by. He even criticised atheists who he argued are missing on the very present link between science and faith.
"There are people who say there is no God," the physicist told a friend, according to the biography. "But what makes me really angry is that they quote me for support of such views."
In a later letter he wrote, "The fanatical atheists are like slaves who are still feeling the weight of their chains which they have thrown off after hard struggle. They are creatures who - in their grudge against traditional religion as the 'opium of the masses' - cannot hear the music of the spheres."
Einstein was by no means a Christian. He had grown up as a German Jew, later leaving that faith. He did not believe in the Judeo-Christian concept of free will, but rather, that people were predetermined to act a certain way.
Despite, he still felt that people should act as if there was free will.
"I am compelled to act as if free will existed, because if I wish to live in a civilized society I must act responsibly," explained Einstein in Isaacson's book. "I know that philosophically a murderer is not responsible for his crime, but I prefer not to take tea with him."-

In other words, saying Einstein believed in God, especially a capitalized God, is over simplifying his actual beliefs on the subject. Most people would expect to be heard when praying to God. Einstein's god was not the kind you pray to.

Well of course they were, God obviously gave women tiny hands to reach into (and clean) all the corners man hands just can't reach. This same 'logic' shows us that the best miners in the world are, well, minors, their tiny bodies are better designed at digging out the goodie minerals from tiny cracks in mines and that's just the way we had in this country until those evil secularists took it over that is.

Don't laugh. The Southern Baptists actually fired women who taught anything other than things like homemaking, and then they created a new college curriculum for housewives that mimicks junior high school home economics. The parody is amusing, but the reality is chilling.

I have absolutely no problem functioning in society. I went to a private Christian school where they taught creationism, I believe it today, and still can engineer wastewater systems as well as the next guy. I can sit in a chair. I can type. I do not know how this magic box works, but I still use it.

My guess is the kids in the public schools that are dropping out more and more each year, or the ones that are being failed by our system and certain teachers, are going to have much more of a problem adjusting than those with the kind of personal attention given by the teachers in smaller classes offered by private schools. -

There is a related 'discipline' called bariminology. It's an attempt at an alternate taxonomy based on the 'kinds' that were allegedly present on the ark.
Reply
The story goes: Noah didn't need to have 2 (or 7) of every species, just a representative of each 'kind'. So instead of having lions, tigers, cheetahs, pumas, etc., Noah just had a pair of meta-cats that went through a sort of hyper-evolution after the ark landed on Ararat.
A lot of pseudo-scientific nonsense.

Back in the day, baby rabbits were considered to be fish so good people could still maintain their Christian faith and eat something besides fish. Just like Houses of Ill Repute in certain Muslim areas, come complete with the means to be married for an hour or two-so you don't break any rules! Like most things, the higher ups usually have ways around the rules.

I think Catholics have relaxed the whole meat thing and fridays, but I imagine there have been folks throughout time who lived their lives in dread fearing the time they would go to hell for that time they had that ham sandwich when they were 7.

NEWSBRIEF: Chicago Tribune, Friday, 10/25/96, "POPE BOLSTERS CHURCH SUPPORT FOR EVOLUTION", by Stevenson Swanson, Tribune Staff Writer, Dateline: New York.
Reply
"In a major statement of the Roman Catholic Church's position on the theory of evolution, Pope John Paul II has proclaimed that the theory is 'more than just a hypothesis' and that evolution is compatible with Christian faith. In a written message to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the pope said the theory of evolution has been buttressed by scientific studies and discoveries since Charles Darwin ... "It is indeed remarkable that this theory has progressively taken root in the minds of researchers following a series of discoveries made in different spheres of knowledge', the pope said in his message Wednesday. 'The convergence, neither sought nor provoked, of results of studies undertaken independently from each other constitutes, in itself, a significant argument in favor of this theory..."
"If taken literally, the Biblical view of the beginning of life and Darwin's scientific view would seem irreconcilable. In Genesis, the creation of the world, and Adam, the first human, took six days. Evolution's process of genetic mutation and natural selection-the survival and proliferation of the fittest new species-has taken billions of years, according to scientists ..."
"The Pope's message went much further in accepting the theory of evolution as a valid explanation of the development of life on Earth, with one major exception: the human soul. 'If the human body has its origin in living material which preexists it, the spiritual soul is immediately created by God', the Pope said." -

Strange package, these alliances of con murdering cowards. Anti abortion, destroying public education, destroying health care for children, worshipping supersition, legislating morality based on ignorance......its as if they fear their own greed, they need their draconian laws to police themselves, cause the repugs know and fear their own greed and hate, afraid of what they might do if not for the punishment if they did. Of course, if they could vote for some facist murderer like Dick Cheney, and then pray to the baby jesus, it makes it OK.
Same as the teilban, imposing their draconian laws, afraid of their own base jealosy and greed and rage.

I have no problem with creation being taught in church or if someone wants to ruin their child with homeschooling, but to teach it in publicly funded schools is completely wrong. I don't want to pay to teach religion to children. I want the doctor who treats me in a hospital to do his best and not allow me to "go to be with God" because he thinks it's a better place. Religion is not science. Now, evolution and creation are not exclusive of each other. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying that church belongs in church and science belongs in classrooms.
