Tea Bag Terrorists »

A recent email to hundreds of thousands of conservatives exhorted them to "Send a Tea Bag to Washington, D.C. for $1." Local reports indicate that the practice of mailing actual tea bags to legislators has repeatedly raised security concerns, and sometimes forced the evacuation of congressional offices in anthrax-like scares.

You know on the surface this sounds like a joke. That is until you understand what the costs of pranks like this cost tax payers. I don't approve of this waste. I agree government it way to big and we need to end this socialist disaster we're heading for. However, those wanting to impeach Obama have to remember that Vice President Biden is then the President. If that isn't a reason to pray for Obama's health, I don't know what is. We're left with two bad choices. An incompetent young president who doesn't understand he actual job and may never. Or a VP who is a great poster boy for Alzheimer's or perhaps Liar, Liar 2.

where were all these protestors when Bush was spending us into the ground? nowhere to be found.

and since when does a marginal 3% tax raise on the wealthiest 1% of americans constitute taxation without representation? never.

and who cares if the tax rate on that wealthiest 1% was actually HIGHER during reagan, right?

wake me up when the numbers of protestors reach the millions, like the protests leading up to the iraq invasion. but only 4000 in Lansing, one of the most economically depressed areas of our country? thats it?

until then, this is just more noise, total bullsh*t, all orchestrated by the right.

instead of coming up with some real ideas, they came up with...this.

    what a puny plan.

"where were all these protestors when Bush was spending us into the ground?"

I see this a lot in response to the tea bag protests. I always have to wonder.....where were YOU? Was there a reason you didn't organize a protest or take some kind of lawful action to express your frustration?

The right has as much right to peacefully protest, demonstrate and engage in civil disobedience as we on the left have. They must keep in mind though that the government often came down very violently on even peaceful protests over the last 50 years, often with loud applause from some of the very people advocating protest today.

If the government overreacts to protests by the right in the same way they did to those of us on the left, I suspect we'll hear some of the same outrage.

Fox news talked about the "tea party" all day, but never showed it. I heard there were about "a dozen or so people" mostly white conservative looking doofus looking people on camera. It was a laugh.

I'm still laughing at Fox news. Also, they were going between the "pirate story" and the "faux tea party." What a bunch of idiots.
