According to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and their ilk, Obama is taking America down the Socialist Road. As Benjamin Sarlin has noted on the Web site the Daily Beast, the talkmeisters of the right have linked a doctrine that never commanded much support in America to a president whose approval rating hovers around 60 percent and much higher than that among the young.

You know this is almost the same claims the left used to say in England about Winston Churchill and his comments about a former corporal, Adolf Hitler. I think Beck is dead on with his assessments of President Obama and Janet Napolitano. I think this is just one more step to restricting free speech. Obama and his party are all for free speech as long as it matches their policies. If it doesn't, you're a right wing threat to the government. It's ironic, the claims the left made against Bush are actually what they're doing now.

Could you please spell out specifically how the Obama administration is doing what the left said Bush was doing? Can you show what rights you are losing to the administration's policies?

If you can't back up what you're talking about with factual details, you're probably falling for Beck's blather just because you want to believe it. -

Are you comparing Beck to Churchill and President Obama to Hitler?

What examples of what the left said in England do you have?
Beck is a Shock-Jock looking for ratings with his inane rants calling the leader of the free world a fascist. Of course anyone who believes that his rants have any foundation in reality is living in a fantasy world made up by their pseudo-conservatives masters.
the claims the left made against Bush
WHAT? You mean President Obama is planning on invading a country that didn't attack us or pose any type of significant theat to us based on fixed facts? I don't believe it!

As the article points out, what is being advocated is really social capitalism, a form of economy closer to European style social democracy. It certainly has little or no relation to Marxism. In some ways George W Bush was advocating a style of government that was more Marxist.

But the super extremest will have their say. Hence a slight increase in the taxes of the very rich (3%) becomes confiscatory, even though it (that tax rate) is less than has existed for most of the past fifty years.
Hence a president who makes no more use of teleprompters than any of his predecessors becomes, in their view, a brainless moron who can't speak without one (despite the numerous instances in which he's done just that).
Some people just have to work themselves into a lather. -
