"Why is the president's tax return any of our concern?"

I don't know. The Obama campaign and his supporters online and in the media made a big deal about the Clinton's tax returns during the primaries. I remember them screaming for weeks about them. I bet if you search on them you will find plenty of rants about it from posters here on propeller who now don't think it is such a big deal.

I give Obama credit for being a self made man. But this is exactly what confuses me. We have a self-made black man elected President, who insists the system is a failure and needs change, and seems hell-bent on establishing an entitlement psychology in the population.

When he was campaigning he said that the only income he gets is from us..no stocks,no Bs..And he also stated how thankful he was that the American people paid him as well as they do...Having come from a working class family 250 k is a big jump and he is grateful..not greedy.

There are a bunch of presidential tax returns here, unfortunately all .pdf.
I went through them and took some notes...I wonder if I can find them?
I do remember some stuff I thought interesting George Bush did not sign his, instead I think his accountant did and she was female.
Hillary Clinton at one point crossed out "first lady" and wrote "Lawyer".
There where a lot of deductions for self-employment tax, which made me wonder about the side job thing. My boss does not like it, when I do side jobs.
One year Dick Cheney got a $1.9 million refund, and there where dramatic fluctuations in his AGI. -

Other than interest on the money his mommy and daddy gave him, he's never made much money at all. In fact most of the companies he "ran," he ran into the ground and had to be rescued by (hold on for this one!) SAUDI investors. -

Good for Mr. Obama! As long as he earned his money honestly and paid his taxes, then good for him. We as Americans cannot allow oursleves to be caught up in trying to destroy someone success. We need to put OUR effort in ensuring that ALL have the chance to succeed. This is NOT something promissed or a gift. One must earn it.

This is another reason we must stand up against BOTH parties spending away OUR childrens chances for success. -

You righties will only admire a self-made man of wealth and intellect if he espouses the same extreme views you represent. There is a reason you're in the minority right now - those views are not held in high regards by the majority of American citizens and most of the world.

Obama is the embodiment of the American dream achieved through hard work and intellectual pursuance of a goal to better the lives of his fellow Americans. He has his faults and there are some issues I don't agree with him on but on the whole I think he's doing a good job.
Time will tell on wether he accomplishes his goals of strengthening our economy, making us more energy independent, reforming and making healthcare affordable to all, fixing the social security bomb waiting to go off some time soon in our future and securing our nation from the threats of terrorism and WMDs. But I wish he succeeds because if he doesn't, the Republicans have shown they can't. -
