Barack Obama earned his money. He didn't inherit it. He did exactly what he's encouraging the young people of this country to do: to get an education and work your way from the bottom up. If you want it, work for it, earn it.

I give Obama credit for being a self made man. But this is exactly what confuses me. We have a self-made black man elected President, who insists the system is a failure and needs change, and seems hell-bent on establishing an entitlement psychology in the population.

But cons thought entitlements were nifty when Bush was fillingJustice Department jobs with bigtoed, poorly educated religious zealot neocons and giving no bid war contracts to Cheney's friends. Why the sudden change of heart, coolslow? Oh...a "self-made black man" is doing it, so now you're disgruntled. ;-P

When did Obama insist the system is a failure?

It's not the SYSTEM, it's the people who run the system, that makes it a success or failure. And it's still to early with Obama to say which way it'll turn out but Bush's failure is in no doubt.

rok - you obviously don't know Obama's background. He did not work his way through any school or university.

Pardon me? Obama was the son of a single mother. Where is the silver spoon that Bush (and Kerry) had? Who helped him?

How does one become the Harvard Law Review president without talent?

            Please, show me.

ahh Tangent - you have hit on the real question. No one knows who paid the bills.

He became law review pres because of affirmative action. He was not in the top 10% of his class.

You keep asserting this NEo-Clown lie despite links proving you wrong. I guess you're just continued proof of intentional ignorance.

Not to mention a petty little racist.

Did you not pay any attention to what Obama said regarding this in his campaign speeches?

Klarissa - You obviously know nothing about the elite universities and law schools. They are damn hard to get into and even harder to excel in. One really is competing against the creme d'la creme of academia when you are in Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Duke, University of Chicago, etc.

The position of editor in chief of the law review of any major law school is a highly coveted and sought after position. It is not an honorary position. It is not a token position. The law reviews are read and used by lawyers across the country. The editorship is a launching pad for young lawyers into prominent law firms or government positions.

I know. My daughter is a lawyer. I became acquainted with the world of law schools thru her.

sio- law schools chose the editor out of the very top of the top 10% of the law students. Obama was not in the top 10%,

And you have no idea why I know so much about law schools

Assuming facts not in evidence. You don't know anything about Harvard, that's for certain.
