Scratch Homeland Security Off the GOP Platform »
Posted By Spadecaller 7 months, 3 weeks ago in Political NewsDespite Bush’s documented reports on the large numbers of potentially violent neo-Nazis, right-wing extremists, skinheads, and other white supremacists who are learning the art of warfare in the armed forces, many Republicans are so desperate to restore their party image that they are willing to put partisan politics above homeland security. Republicans are now arguing that, for politically correct and politically expedient reasons, we should ignore this possible domestic terror threat identified by George Bush's FBI and George Bush's Department of Defense.

Why do many Republicans want to quiet the media from covering these right-wing extremist threats? Is it because their most energized supporters are now on the fringes of their floundering party that has lost touch with mainstream America?
Reply
The small energized base of the GOP today are made up of extremists – the supporters who are the first to scream racist remarks about President Obama, and the first to protest against the current administration. And what is left of the party without them?
What happened to the party that once presented itself as the great protector of homeland security? I guess it is now more obvious that their personal careers and politics come first. I suppose some of these politicians would not mind a successful terrorist attack during President Obama’s watch; of course, as long a bomb does not hit the Capitol Building, when Congress is in session.-

It is one thing that the GOP wants to ignore violent extremist maniacs, but what is behind Americans who want to look the other way at those that would threaten to assassinate Obama? What is behind the wingnuts who justify hatred for this administration? Obama never has threatened taking anyone's guns away except for the same assault weapons that Clinton had. Why is it creating such a commotion now?

Well Spade there are many things that we are not told by our government, which is why "secret" government has to end. For example, both of our political parties have protected zionist spying in America, even to the point of giving Israel-first traitors like Wolfowitz and Feith that were caught by the FBI positions in the Bush administration that allowed them to stick the US in the swampland of the Iraq war. This has been going on for far longer than the recent events and we know that amongst those financing the "right-wing extremism" are oligarchic jewish billionaires like Fred Koch.

Neo-Cons, Israel and the Bush Administration
Since 9-11, a small group of “neo-conservatives” in the Administration have effectively gutted—they would say reformed—traditional American foreign and security policy. Notable features of the new Bush doctrine include the pre-emptive use of unilateral force, and the undermining of the United Nations and the principle instruments and institutions of international law....all in the cause of fighting terrorism and promoting homeland security.
.... In 1983, on the recommendation of Richard Perle, Ledeen was hired at the Department of Defense as a consultant on terrorism. His immediate supervisor was the Principle Assistant Secretary for International Security Affairs, Noel Koch. Early in their work together, Koch noticed with concern Ledeen’s habit of stopping by in his (Koch’s) outer office to read classified materials. When the two of them took a trip to Italy, Koch learned from the CIA station there that when Ledeen had lived in Rome previously, as correspondent for The New Republic, he’d been carried in Agency files as an agent of influence of a foreign government: Israel....
.... One might wonder how, with security histories like these, Messrs. Bryen and Ledeen have managed to get second and third chances to return to government in highly classified positions.
And the explanation is that they, along with other like-minded neo-conservatives, have in the current Bush Administration friends in very high places. In particular, Bryen and Ledeen have been repeatedly boosted into defense/security posts by former Defense Policy Council member and chairman Richard Perle (he just quietly resigned his position), Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, and Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Douglas Feith.
As previously mentioned, Perle in 1981 as DOD Assistant Secretary for International Security Policy (ISP) hired Bryen as his Deputy. That same year, Wolfowitz as head of the State Department Policy Planning Staff hired Ledeen as a Special Advisor. In 2001 Douglas Feith as DOD Under Secretary for Policy hired, or approved the hiring of Ledeen as a consultant for the Office of Special Plans.... -

Spadecaller is being silly with this story. The story ignores what the Homeland Security wrote in their latest report. Watch out for people opposed to homosexual marriage, owning guns, opposing abortions, being religious, wanted Ron Paul, Bob Bar, or another minority candidate, and being a veteran. That is about 80-90% of the country including all of those groups. That was an insane report that painted that broad of a brush. But the super liberals loved it. They somehow think the majority of the country are opposed to those groups.

They are standing on the side of their careers in politics. Most politicians on both sides of the aisle will do just about anything to protect their careers and forget about their primary job, which is being the trusted servants of the people. Perhaps this is the biggest problem our nation faces.

What concerns me is that with this kind of reaction by the GOP, their refusal to cooperate with supporting Homeland security could result in a catastrophic event that will take the lives of many Americans and then be politicized in order to blame the Obama administration.

Israels Racist in Chief
It was unthinkable, when I was based as a correspondent in Jerusalem two decades ago, that an Israeli politician who openly advocated ethnically cleansing the Palestinians from Israeli-controlled territory, as well as forcing Arabs in Israel to take loyalty oaths or be forcibly relocated to the West Bank, could sit on the Cabinet. The racist tirades of Jewish proto-fascists like Meir Kahane stood outside the law, were vigorously condemned by most Israelis and were prosecuted accordingly. Kahane's repugnant Kach Party, labeled by the United States, Canada and the European Union as a terrorist organization, was outlawed by the Israeli government in 1988 for inciting racism.
Israel has changed. And the racist virus spread by Kahane, whose thugs were charged with the murders and beatings of dozens of unarmed Palestinians and whose members held rallies in Jerusalem where they chanted "Death to Arabs!" has returned to Israel in the figure of Israel's powerful new foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman. Lieberman openly calls for an araberrein Israel-an Israel free of Arabs....
Lieberman, a former nightclub bouncer who was a member of the Kach Party, has the personal and political habits of the Islamic goons he opposes. He was found guilty in 2001 of beating a 12-year-old boy and fined by an Israeli court. He is being investigated for multimillion-dollar fraud and money laundering and is rumored to have close ties with the Russian mafia. He lives, in defiance of international law, in the Jewish settlement of Nokdim on occupied Palestinian land. ...
Hamas, the Iranian government and the Taliban have been condemned by Washington for advocating policies that mirror those expressed by Lieberman toward Palestinians. Ahmed Tibi, an Arab deputy in the Knesset, has called on the international community to boycott Israel as it did Austria when far-right leader Jorg Haider joined that country's government. This seems a fair request. But I expect the hypocrisy and double standards that characterize our relations with the Middle East, along with our obsequious catering to the Israel lobby, to prevail. Racism, as long as it is directed toward Arabs, does little to perturb our conscience or hinder our support of Israel.

Someone could still drive a truck onto the Peace Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, Golden Gate, etc... and blow it to kingdom come without any real threat of being stopped. For international travel to Canada, the customs stop is after crossing the bridge. Drive a truck up to the peak of the bridge, park it, and grab a ride back the other direction or better yet, grab a ride in a follower car into Canada.
That is a huge hole in our security. After almost 8 years, the only thing that Homeland Security has really attempted to do is wage a *We are making you safe* feel-good marketing campaign. Even the changes that have occurred, like shoe inspections (laughable), are the result of something actually happening. They have not perceived threat and react to it very well. Our government is filled with one-dimensional thinkers that are only concerned about their careers. -

That's right ... Bachman, Palin, Limbaugh, Hannity, and their insane followers from the KKK, white supremacists, and neonazis groups need more assault weapons and extra ammunition so they can bring "change" they can believe in.
Reply
They would like to see the President's assassination. According to these mentally defective extremists they believe their hate and outrage is justified.
The real reason behind the outrage against Obama is racism. Most of us know it.
But these cowards (like Locky) hate Jews and blacks and don't have the honesty to admit the truth so they pretend they are "outraged" about taxes and profound principles.
Meanwhile, there are more tax breaks for more Americans now than Bush ever provided the middle class. The real enemy in our nation is a combination of career politicians who need these sicos to manipulate to safe their sorry-ass careers. It is the same phenomenon that gave Hitler power to exploit Germans, which led to scapegoating innocent people, liberal Jews, alleged communists, and anyone that they perceived was the cause of their discontent.

Spade -- now I have to admit that I don't pal around with white supremicists and militia groups, and I rarely listen to Rush or Hannity, but I haven't heard ANY of them call for Obama's assassination. I don't know who Bachman is but I am fairly confident that Palin hasn't either.
Reply
Tax cuts are good. I know that I'm paying way too much in taxes already (because of my business, my total tax bill is about 5 times what I earn), but just as cutting taxes when gov't spending was no good under Bush, its still not good to double or triple the size of the gov't (which seems to be being done) and cut taxes.
In my opinion, what is needed to get the economy going is massive cuts in the size of government and its spending, not massive increases.
If this makes me a racist in your eyes, so be it. -

Those that remain silent to and support the denial of legitimate hate groups who have been exposed for threatening to assassination the President and for threatening to blow up government buildings will have the blood of innocent victims on their hands, just as Timothy McVeigh had the blood of those that he was responsible for killing in Ok.

The call to ignore violent extremism is premeditated.
Reply
Standing behind Fox and other mainstream media companies are lobbyists and the sponsoring corporations that profit from war and military intervention.
They do not want peace and they want the GOP back in power. The power of the military industrial complex pulls the purse strings of the lobbyists who back the politicians - those who will represent their interests. And their interests are related to war and violence.
Inciting violent racists to murder President Obama is not just an idle consequence of a few fringe politicians. Most of the GOP knows that they are unleashing the hate that is easy to tap into. What are they willing to do to maintain and to restore their control over the corporations that profit from conflict? You tell me!

Your constitution gave rights to the people that to me is still something that should be respected. I do not favor extremists of any sort but the constitution does grant them the right to excist and preach what ever they wish. To me the more important part of this situation is the understanding that these people do excist both on the right and left and having faith in a legal system that will prosecute those who actually do commit crimes against society or individuals. I am not a citizen of your country but I would find it easier to accept a law that severly punished those who carried out actions of hatred or even treason than to destroy the rights given by the constitution.

When you are forced to sell your car,and other items lets hope the banks will loan the buyers at least enough to pay you maybe ten percent of it real value.A lot you have been on the dole so long you can't imagine it will end.I guess hope springs eternal

In the real world, there is such a thing as between reasonable security as opposed to a police state.
I've been the recipient of inappropriate black bag operations and I know how horrible that is. I also know that there are times that our national guard have saved Jews and blacks from being lynched during the civil rights marches and demonstrations.
Your theoretical naivety is fine for posting simple comments on the internet, but it is unrealistic in the real world. We must always be willing to find a just balance that respects the civil rights of our citizens in addition to providing protection from dangerous elements that are real and present in our society.
