Well, unless Premier Obama has removed the 1st Amendment from his list of to dos, Ensign can say anything he wants to and questions any actions of the President. As for actions, I question his conduct and actions. For our oldest allies, he presents Ipods and old DVD's. For dictators he bows and shakes their hands, elevating them. When did our nation become Europe? When did we need to apologies for actions against dictatorships? When did kissing the arses of dictators and corrupt monarchs become the norm? South America would be one massive "socialist" paradise like Cuba is today had the US not helped the democracies. This is why I question the President's conduct and actions. Whose side is he really on?

if Obama makes nice with everyone who are we going to kill? we have al these guns and bombs, we need to use them. that means having enemies. Chavez is a perfect enemy in the bank for after we finish off al queda and Iran... this Obama guy is clearly too inexperienced to understand the importance of having someone to kill.

Anyways, we see what GW Bush's "cowboy diplomacy" got us over his eight years. I say it's about time we actually talked like adults. -

The last sentence sums it up quite nicely...

"Think about this, politeness is making America less safe. This is all they have. From this point of view, it is any wonder that they are holding tea parties?"

I´m clearly with u LumFan. Nobody make USA more insecure that Goerge W. Bush, with his policies he make almost all the arabs & a Good part of the World hate USA and his people. I think is time that USA, make a profound change in his economy to depend on Productivity & others thinks, not in the next War to come. This will make the Country more strong, secure and change the form the World is seeing USA rigth now.

Actually, he is a brutal dictator. He has secret police and people do disappear. He's taken over all media sources and now you will only hear those supporting the Chavez policies. As for the poor, there are more poor than ever under his leadership. There are a few poor that benefited but more than likely, those who are doing much better can best be described as henchman of the good dictator. Like Hitler's Goering or Himmler, Chavez's lieutenants are getting rich.

Another example of a politician of the opposite party assigning negatives to anything the party in power does. The senator is full of bull poop. Our foreign policy has always been a mess and contributes to the hatred many countries have for us. It's about time we offered something different when dealing with other countries.

Yet Venezuela sold us an average of over a million barral of crude oil everyday in 2008 to keep us humming right along. They are our 4th largest dealer....er, um...supplier.-

Why would he want to do that?

Has he no pride?
But if he has no pride, - why did he run for president?
Is it possible, - that you are wrong?
Would you kiss the behind of a false statement
in order to insult the people you hate?
Do you often fantasize about kissing behinds?
Please don't answer that! -

Chavez extended a hand & Obama shook it. In their mtg. Obama opened a discussion with Chavez that Chavez should release political prisoners. Damm, Obama is sooooo wrong!

Obama was supposed to add Cuba, Venezuela and all those countries to the "axis of evil" Bush created. Then, let's invade them. Bush has done that so well in Iraq & Afghanistan.
Look at the results there, can't everyone just see Bush was so sucessful in turning Dictatorships into flourishing Democracies by invading & occupying the respective countries??? They are now our friends. What??? Iraq & Afghanistan are not Democracies yet? Not even our friends? Bush's approach only got thousands killed & accomplished nothing???
That's ok.
But, Obama was still wrong in taking the hand Chavez extended...
We expect Obama to get our troops ready to invade Cuba, Venezuela, Somalia...but we don't want a draft...ok so maybe we just want Obama to ignore Chavez...no, then we will say Obama didn't make an effort to get political Prisoners in foreign countries freed...ok, we want Obama to meet with Chavez, but if Chavez extends his hand we want Obama to ignore it...well, maybe we want Obama to throw a shoe at Chavez...no, someone did that to our former President and some of us were unhappy about it...ok so back to what is Obama expected to do?
Meet with Chavez, take his extended hand & open a dialogue about the release of political Prisoners? Nope, that won't make people happy either. -

You can't be this gullible can you? This is a political statement or better yet a cheap shot. "He cares..." Yea right. If he did care about the poor why would he try to copy Fidel's models for a "socialist paradise"? I've never seen people in boat, beside Democratic politicians, trying to swim to Cuba.

He stepped on his dick at the UN and virtually put his national oil company CITGO out of business in this country, so he came up with heating oil thing to try to make amends with the American people. I still won't go near a Citgo station and never will.

There are a few points to make clear here. Chavez is not a Dictator like some tv group´s & news papers from the right in Venezuela and the World try to "SALE". This guy win his first elecctions with more than 6.000.000 votes for a little country, with International Observers there. There are Press & TV Liberty. I have friends there and they say that some Group insult to Chavez almost all days. Chavez is not against the American People, "he sale Oil to discount price to the people after Katrina for example". He was against the Crazy Politic of George W. Bush and is because Bush attack him from the first moment he take like Venezuelan President. In maybe 20 years, only 5 countrys will have sufficient oil to supply the world and Venezuela is one of theirs, why don´t try to have a reasonable relation with the Guy.
