history's white-ruled racist empires, past and present, a couple of ragtag colonial hangers-on that haven't cut their apron strings yet, and of course, the favorite imperial pet project of them all at the center of the storm.... bless the little darling

FTA: "The major sticking points regarding the proposed final U.N. declaration are its implied criticism of Israel and an attempt by Muslim governments to ban all criticism of Islam, Sharia law, the prophet Muhammad and other tenets of their faith."

So the answer is to put our heads into the sand and plug our ears?
If some declaration is not acceptable, don't sign it. If Israel doesn't deserve criticism, then it should be easy to defend it. If Muslim countries push for censorship, then say: no. Of course that's not easy because denying the Holocaust is already a crime in some countries, as far as I know, so if that's sacred, then why shouldn't Muhammad be? That's the price of hypocrisy. If there is freedom of speech, there should be freedom of speech. -

"Regarding its boycott, the Obama administration said it could not endorse any statement that singled out Israel or included passages demanding a ban on language considered an "incitement" of religious hatred. Such calls "run counter to the U.S. commitment to unfettered free speech," said State Department spokesman Robert Wood"
DId I hear "the US commitment to unfettered free speech"?
So how can Europe has "thought crime law" which is used to prosecute, fine and jail anybody who disagrees with the government version of holocaust? Historians and researchers have gone to jail because they dared to give a speech or write a paper to refute some parts of the government version of the holocaust in WWII. So is Obama not aware of this? Isn't that the worst kind of violation of "the US commitment to unfettered free speech" or if this violation is done by Zionists then it is acceptable?

I as a Muslim do not want any ban on criticism of Islam. I believe Islam has enough strength in it to counter and answer these criticsms. Different interpretations of Islam by different Muslims has to be critisized and debated.
Muslims began slipping after they gave up on debate and preferred dogma of some of the scholars ove r the teachings of Quran.
To make my point I can cite a saying from prophet Muhammad PBUH who said:" to seek knowledge is a must for every Muslim man and woman" .1400 years later Taliban in Afghanistan interpretted this as "girls don't need education past fifth grade" and shut down girl's schools.
Quran always challenges its followers to "think, reflect, rationalize" . As for those who are slandering Muslims, it is easy to counter them and not by baning them but by exposing them and airing their dirty laundary. -
