So you're telling me you'd be willing to have something in space able to send power back to the planet using a radio signal? You guys have been going after cell phones and are afraid of power lines. And you lefties think this will go through with no problem? You'll spend billions on law suits, studies and protests. The funny part here, you will have lefties on both sides of this fight.

The other issue really are the costs. I see huge up front costs in the billions. Being a power source, there generally is a huge amount of maintenance. Without a shuttle program, who is handling the space deployment and work? I think this is one of the dumbest ideas I've heard out of the left in recent years.

I loved that book. According to some futurists the next level of civilization will be powered by space based solar arrays to an extent that would rival Ringworld. According to some experts a single kilometer long solar array could provide more energy than all the worlds existing known oil and gas reserves. The Country that first develops and promotes space based solar power will have a huge advantage financially and politically.

When will they get their heads out of the clouds and here on Earth? This method does not impress me at all...simplicity is a sign of being complex...or should i say intelligent.

Fluid power...and transfer of energy pumping water is a better idea...and can be accomplished here on earth...without a damn to hold the water back...then we could power homes and air condition them, protect from fires....where these men came from...they forgot...I will not blame her.
