Rush Limbaugh: It isn’t Torture if You Can Survive It »
Posted By capj71 7 months, 2 weeks ago in Political NewsOn his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh continued to make the claim that water boarding is not torture. Rush said that if somebody can survive water torture six times a day, then it is not torture. He asked why the detainees didn’t complain to the lawyers if it was so bad. Um, Rush they weren’t allowed to have lawyers.

And to think the Military thought it would be torture for him to have to deal with a zit on his -ss!

Is there any less credible human being in the universe? Perhaps not to his "dittoheads" but I am referring to those who actually think. Who take at least two competing views and determine which parts of each argument are more credible.

When it comes to this discussion about waterboarding not being torture I have tried a home version of this mostly to see just how much panic is involved and also to see if one can maintain a calm state of mind while it is happening. Despite doing this many times I have not been able to get away from the feeling of panic when you try to inhale and even if you even try to breathe really slow you still breath in a lot of water, and if you are submerged in hot water your pulse speeds up and it makes it even worse.
Reply
If Rush were to contact me I would be happy to provide him with some details on how to carry out his own home version of waterboarding, if he doesn't consider it torture he could skip the part where it says that you should have someone in attendance while carring it out, since it can be very dangerous.
Just another thought if the idea of torture is to kill someone what have you gained if the person lied while being tortured.-

Why don't you try pulling out your fingernails, or maybe a few teeth?
Now that would be torture.
After the water stops in water boarding there is no damage other than you spilled the info.
60% of the info we got from al-Queda was due to water boarding and that saved many American lives.
Saving our lives doesn't matter to you libs though.
We just don't want to "offend" anyone.
You all make me sick.

What up with this finger crap? My father had a missing middle finger cut off in an industrial accident. It wasn't torture because no one targeted him and justified cutting his finger off by saying it was not torture because he survived. It was an accident and maybe Emanuel's was too.

redriverJ talks of:
Reply
"-the liberal humility toward cowards that terrorize the entire world, use women and children for human shields, rape, torture, behead, burn, and crash jets into our WTC, Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania.
If you were about to be behead and our CIA got a terrorist to talk and save your life by water boarding a scum bag....."
We are presented a false choice: torture, or let evil win.
That isn't the choice.
Torture doesn't work.
It doesn't beat evil.
It is evil, and it encourages evil;
We torture, the evil wins.
It doesn't work;
and only on Fox 24 is it going to save a busload of
liberals.
Those who present us this false choice,
- are frauds; not intelligence agents,
- posers in flak suites, not soldiers,
- lawyers loopholing the constitution, not policemen.
They are radio-talk show host chicken-hawks
and tough-talking draft-dodgers daydreaming of a world where being strong means doing something evil,
- where being moral is a hindrance;
- where common sense is a liberal weakness.
They are the enemies' best friend.
Guantanamo is a world recruitement flag for Al qaeda;
waterboarding is a call to arms for our enemies.
It provides no data to our intelligence,
- encourages our enemies,
- discourages our friends,
- betrays our beliefs,
- stains our flag,
and could only be championed by someone who daydreams of doing it to troublesome fellow Americans.
Try it on us, RedRiverJ;
- you may find that liberals aren't the pacifist cowards
your talk-show host tell you. -

I do find it interesting that when someone on the right chooses to exercise his or her first amendment rights, those supporting Obama go into attack mode. Why was it alright to make claims of incest with the Palin's daughter and you remained silent. Why when Harry Reid claimed the war is lost and we should run away like a bunch of little school girls, you again remained silent. When people asked Obama, Pelosi or anyone on the left to explain their actual position you claimed it was racist, sexist or whatever wall he or she was hiding behind. I think it's time for the left to admit they're the party of fascism. Speech is protected by them as long as it parrots the daily talking points from the White House.

Nope.
Reply
The fact that there are nut-cases and moraly-compromised people on the left,
doesn't justify a single spoken word of evil on the right.
The left is entirely correct to point out that this man is speaking nonsense
that tarnishes our national character.
If you were sincere in denouncing attacks on Palin's family,
- and not just supporting your side of the political fence,
here is where you show us .
Denounce this. -

Why when Harry Reid claimed the war is lost and we should run away like a bunch of little school girls
Reply
And the worst part is, the whole attack is based on a completely out-of-context quote. This is what Harry Reid really said, "And as long as we follow the President's path in Iraq, the war is lost. But there is still a chance to change course - and we must change course." Any questions?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-kerry/standing-...
And what did the Bush Administration do? Why they took Harrys' advice and changed course by escallating the number of troop, bribe the Sunnis, and made a deal with that al Sadr guy.
Good call Harry. -

I did not remain silent on any of the occasions that you site. Many of us stood up and told people to leave Palin's daughter out of it. I stood up and stated the we couldn't just leave Iraq when Harry Reid called for surrender. I often state my discontent with both Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Obama bin Laden authorized air strikes w/drones which killed several terrorists and their families but yet he believes water boarding is too harsh. I don't think the prez knows or understands what he's talking about. Rush is probably right.

You think someone being water boarded panic,I bet those citizens in the twin towers were freak out while they were being flaming jet fuel boarded,especially those who had children,and infants just a few floor down.What a bunch of America hating scumbags.I would have dowsed them in high octane,and flip lit matches at them every four hours.I would have made them beg for water boarding

You incredible moron, the iraqis had nothing to do with 911,it was Saudi Arabs, the ones you suck up to with their oil industry, and Bush let go.

How stupid do you have to be to think Iraqis had anything to do with 911 after years of debunking the neocon oil tycoon haliburton lies and crap exposed time after time.
I guess I answered my question, you have to be as stupid as L65.
What does it take to crack your con propanda faux noise brainwashing? Can you teach a pig to dance?

Obama just gave Eric Holder the green light to prosecute the cowards and traitors who formulated and greenlighted torture, without prosecuting those in the cia who were following orders.
Reply
I say trial them and fry them. First, lets sleep deprive Shotgun Dick, hanging him by his arms, water board him 8 times a day for a month, put him in a box with insects, slam him against a wall, and let him sleep in a bed full of his own yellow cowards dung.
Then hang him like the traitor he is, after stripping his billions and donating it to the children of the soldiers he murdered for his neocon warprofits.-

which could possibly clarify why Obama wasn't willing to prosecute anyone from the CIA. sounds like a deal was struck so instead of being prosecuted, those people will now be testifying against the Bush Admin. -

I actually heard the segment regarding this and it is funny how this story and everyone here never gets it right. Libscape remains a place for the freaks on the left with no ability to think for themselves. Not going to be able to blame Bush forever morons.

I do believe that Rush Limbaugh represents the core constituency of the Republican party, and would be the natural choice to be leader of that bitter, vindictive, dishonest segment of society.

At least then they could present themselves as they really are, and perhaps receive the 5% of the vote they deserve. -

but he shouldn't know its coming.
just snatch him in the middle of the night, while he's in an oxycontin stupor, then make it like he's been kidnapped by the radical left. then have them waterboard him and see how he reacts.
get it all on video and it can be a pay-per-view event.
talk about cha-ching!!
