Thanks, Newperson. It's very hard to watch. I'm on a limited income, but for the past year I've tried to donate $10 a month to our local no-kill pet shelter P. A. W. S. in Anna, IL. (Pets Are Worth Saving) They keep around 30 dogs and 30 cats plus a horse or two and a few small animals at all times. They've adopted out hundreds and saved many abused animals in our area. There's a place you can go click on and feed .6 of a bowl of food to a dog or cat every day. I try to click on that daily. Doesn't cost anything except a minute or two of your time: It's theanimalrescuesite dot com. I love Sarah's song, but it always makes me cry. By the way--China and several Asian countries eat dog meat. I wish we could boycott Chinese goods, but since nearly everything is now made in Mexico or China, not sure how that could happen. When Sam Walton was alive, Wal Mart used to proudly display "Made in the USA" items, but now everything is stamped, "Made in China."

I love Sarah and the song but I have a hard time watching the ad. A real dose of reality. Most animals love unconditionally. When humans mistreat them it is the worst form of cruelty. Recently lost a big 'ol tomcat I had for years to cancer. He could literally communicate (even told me when it was time to go to the vet that last time). Rescued him from an awful family where the mother would hit him with a broom. He followed me around like a dog but if anyone picked up a broom he left the area immediately. The scars remained.

I meant to add, all the animals I and my family have had for the past 20 years have been strays. Right now, we have a cat and a dog--both strays. The cat was dumped off when he was a kitten (along with 1 or 2 siblings who went elsewhere) and the dog was a stray who had just weaned a litter of pups when she was dumped off in the coldest part of Feb. last year. We adopted her a year ago in March. They have brought so much happiness and love into our lives...

I got my dog from the shelter, he had been abused had a brocken nose and something wrong with his ear, it keeps flipping over and I well have to flip it back down because he cant get it go hang down the way its suspose to, his name is Buddy and he is my buddy and best friend.Buddy was afraid of all people when I went to find a dog I wanted and the people at the shelter said he wouldnt come to me because of what had happened to him and his brothers and sisters, they had also starved him. But he is a pointer and I said I wanted him not because hes a pointer but because how he had been treated. I stepped inside the cage with him and he came right up to me they said he had never done that before, I bought him and took him home he is very protective over me and I love him just like he was a person and he goes everywhere with me. He loves people but he watches their every move.
