    Is there any place that lists how much energy is consumed to produced new and old energy technologies? I never hear about it.

      Good point, like all the energy used to gather, store, ship, and reprocess goods. It is a valid question. But the coal issue is still a vilid point, there are so many different options today but coal is still king for power, why? To make fat cats fatter of course.
