Welcome to Eagle Eye's "Earth Day" celebration, some time during the celebration, please take a moment to look at our world and listen to the sounds of nature, stop and smell some flowers and look at the sky. Nature surrounds us and we are so lucky to still have what we have, some due to the efforts of dedicated people preserving our wildlife.

    Peace, EE

Thanks for posting this EE. I have to digress a bit. My wife teaches children with learning disabilities and today among the assignments that she presented, she asked the kids to come up with a slogan for a t-shirt. Before leaving the children to do their work she talked about nature, conservation, and keeping the environment clean. Here is what one of her kids wrote on his paper:

      EARTH DAY

      STOP CRYING
      AND PICK-UP YOUR SH!T

Theres also a series coming on the History channel entitled After Man that goes thru proijections on what the earth is like after man ceases to exist. Pretty intersting.

I am wondering how the usual right wing wacks issue retracts on an educational post for earth day.

The Earth Day series looks interesting.

I watched After Man when it was just a single show. I guess they must have gotten some good feedback and decided to make it a series. Watched some of it last night on the History Channel.

I watched a show on the Mayan civilization last night also on the History Channel. Some very interesting information on the Mayan culture.

The Mayan's where pretty advanced for a primitive culture. Hubby and I went to the Yucatan Penn. and visited many of the ancient ruins for our Honeymoon and it was amazing what they accomplished back then. But, just like any good thing, to much and it gets ruined, they over populated and when they couldn't feed the population they starved to death, That is a possibility today along with disease wiping biological life forms out.

                  EE,

The Overpopulation Theory was one of several theories they said could have caused the sudden disappearance of the Mayan civilization. I've always been curious about any civilization that reaches a peak in its technologies and then suddenly disappears. I watch shows on these cultures all the time and wonder "what happened" that they could seemingly disappear so quickly and without any apparent natural or man-made disaster? Very curious and very interesting. Maybe the Earth Day series will shed some light on what could happen.
