I am always amazed at the pure ignorance of what little use torture is in gathering information. A tortured subject will ALWAYS tell the torturer what they think the torturer wants to here in order to stop the pain. The only uses for torture is getting a measure of revenge or getting someone to say something false for propaganda purposes.

I am also appalled at so called patriots that think opposition to these tactics is the same as surrendering to another 9-11 or being soft and vulnerable. NOT torturing is treating them with "kindness and understanding?" PUULease!! You have no idea of what you are talking about. First, any trained interrogator will tell you that there are many effective interrogation techniques that do not involve "kindness and understanding." Secondly, it is a false argument that NOT torturing is the same as wanting Americans to die. On the contrary, wanting real and accurate intelligence from captives will save American lives.
There is a NO justification for torture. Torture puts us on the same moral level as the zealots that we are fighting. It is an un-American, immoral affront to everything we as a country stands for. If you support torture as a political or military tool, you are no patriot.
