Obama Gets High Marks in New AP Poll »
Posted By TimALoftis 9 months, 3 weeks ago in Political NewsWASHINGTON (April 23) - For the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is headed in the right direction, a sign that Barack Obama has used the first 100 days of his presidency to lift the public's mood and inspire hopes for a brighter future.
Intensely worried about their personal finances and medical expenses, Americans nonetheless appear realistic about the time Obama might need to turn things around, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll. It shows most Americans consider their new president to be a strong, ethical and empathetic leader who is working to change Washington.

Overall good news for the President - 64% approval, 48% feeling the Country is now headed in the right direction (up from 40% last month) and twice as many saying the President is living up to his campaign promises vs. those who say he is not.

In the poll however, the President has become a very polarizing figure with only 24% approval coming from Republicans which is down fairly sharply from two months ago.
In a separate poll out today, Rasmussen Reports' Daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows Obama with a 54-46 percent approval rating. The approval and disapproval numbers represent record low approval and record high disapproval for the president, respectively. Moreover, the spread between respondents that strongly approve or disapprove of Obama's job performance stands at just 34-32.
Gallup currently has the President's approval at 63%.-

The average of all polling taken over the last three weeks show Obama's approval at 61% (realclear politics) It has pretty much held steady at this figure since late February.

Due to the fact that the President will mark his first 100 days in office next week, all of the media outlets will be doing polling over the next few days - It will be interesting to see if these numbers change much. -

I don't believe the poles in this situation. I have very liberal members of my extended family who used to work for the GM plant in Janesville. They're not fond of the President and will most likely vote against anyone with a D behind their name. BTW-for them, this will be the first time most of them ever voted for a Republican. I suspect the mid term elections will be a disaster for the DNC.

Add to the continued job losses, which with the rest of GM closing for 9 weeks or more, will push unemployment somewhere between 10 and 18% nationally. I wonder if this was the change they were looking for when they voted for Barrack Obama. -

I am sticking to what King Solomon said, doesnt matter if your a king...we are all equal by birth. The declaration in 1776 included his words, King Solomon. As for a president? I read and write, and the powers of government are vested with all the people.

I advise we all get our heads out of the clouds...as I sent Oboma an email...first to president@whitehouse.gov...got conformation then was politely sent to fill out another form. He knows...
